Infertility is a dysfunction, when something isn't working correctly. People spend much money trying to fix the problem. Are you suggesting we spend more money fixing gay people?

Goodnight. I have enjoyed this brief conversation. I respect your right to believe what you do and to vote however you do. I hope you do the same for others even if their views are not perfectly in line with yours. I personally hope I did not offend anyone with my views, but if I did then please accept my apology for that was not my intent. I respect everyone's right to be with whoever makes them happy in life (within reason). I just don't have to like it.

I respect your views until you begin to force them onto other people. And by voting for this bill, you have done so.

Surveys asking gays or bisexuals if they chose to have their sexual orientation.

If there were no physiological differences, that would also lend some credit to the notion that it is a choice and does not come from biology.

However, gays will universally say they did not choose homosexuality and there are many physiological differences.

Then they're lying, obviously.

This is probably TL;DR for this fast-moving thread, but I thought I'd post it anyway. It's a good read (IMO). Here's the first paragraph:

One has to wonder, if homosexuality is such a heinous sin against God, why does Jesus himself never refer to it? One cannot extrapolate affirmation of such relationships from that silence, but still, why no mention of an issue now causing entire churches to split?"

We're on the same page. I got to be friends with a fellow out of our Dallas office, and he was gay. Me and several of my employees had to fly down for business, and he was kind enough to show us around the city. He was a wonderful person, with a great personality, and I thought very highly of him. He died last year from a respiratory illness, which we understand was aids related. I was saddend by that loss. I don't support gay marriage, but he was my friend. Maybe that makes be hypocritical, but it is what it is.

You laugh but it is no less logical than your argument. Yours is: It is not a choice. That's all the evidence you need.

I'm not siding with either of you because I don't care and don't have an opinion. I'm just saying that your argument is every bit as weak as his.

My logic is that I've asked numerous gay people point blank. Since when did going to the source become junk science? What, you think there's some big gay conspiracy?

Hell, with the social pressure in Alabama, can you blame them? I know more than a few who came out and were promptly assaulted.
