How bout we bring back polygamy it's popular around parts of the world. Don't want anyone to fell left out. Should there be a anything goes society? I could care less about who one chooses to have sex with or how many. That being said it one thing to be tolerate and forcing one to change Thier beliefs . As I understand it the law does not make being homosexual a crime it just doesn't recognize the marriage of same sex couples. If the law is changed to accept same sex marriage then were does one stop recognizing other forms of marriage . Would it not be considered bigotry toward other forms of marriage except same sex and opposite sex marriage of individuals if other forms of marriage were not legalized? I think the same argument would be applied to other forms of marriage and called bigotry . I don't care who one sleeps with but don't try and tell me it okay to legalize other forms of marriage outside of heterosexual singular marriage and it not become problematic .

you are going to be one of the more popular posters on the board today with this post , thanks as its going to be a slow day at work and now i have something to do biggrin

It is more socially acceptable to marry your first cousin and have a kid with that person, than to gay marry and adopt a child out of a foster home in North Carolina. Glad you showed your true colors, Tar Heel state residents.

So you basically want gay dudes to adopt and raise children. Okay.

I just don't understand why you care if they let 2 dudes get married? I couldn't give a damn.
Should the government really be able to determine these things? What about interracial marriage. Should a state be able to regulate that?
I just don't get it. Maybe it is that I am not religious enough to determine what others should be allowed to do.

Never said I personal care one way or the other I just stated there will be a problem on how far one chooses to go with the defined legal marriage if one chooses to make several forms of marriage legal. Where do you stop? If you limit marriage by a legal definition them whom ever is left out could claim bigotry with the aguement used in this thread.

Why do people insist on bringing race into this? They are not comparable. I am willing listen to any argument that Gay marriage supporters bring forth, but this is the only one they seem bring up.

I would rather be intolerant of bigotry than be bigoted. And yes, people who believe gay people are lesser people and don't deserve the same rights as everyone else, is weak minded.

With all due respect what you don't understand is that for most of us the issue isn't about thinking less of gay people as it is about thinking more of marriage. I genuinely don't think badly of homosexuals. I want them to be successful. But, as long as you couch the discussion the way you do you'll never be able to have a productive discussion with someone with whom you disagree. I might be wrong on some issues, but I'm far from weak minded.

  • OP is a faggot if you ask me.
Also god made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve
Also why do gay people rub it in your face that they are gay
Why can't gay people go back to hiding it from everyone
Lesbians should be allowed to get married only if they put out one sex video a week.
    All of these are FACTS

Here's my problem with this stance, good:

    (a) Marriage was around before Christianity. It's been around for a long time. No one religion has the right to legislate the rules of marriage.

    (b) IMO, marriage is what YOU make out of it. I'll never understand the stance that someone else's marriage, regardless of who they are, has an effect on your own. As long as you love your spouse, what's the issue?

To me, it really sounds like most people just don't want homosexuals to get the tax breaks that married couples do. That's really all I get out of the "institute" of marriage. I don't need anyone to tell me how much I love my girlfriend.

  • Due to the fact that a certain group wants to change the legal definition of marriage . Thought it would be very obvious . If you want to change the definition then you need to about how to define marriage in legal terms and who to exclude in the legal definition . Interracial marriage is not illegal and is within the Legal definition of marriage .

That article says that more often then not you pay more taxes when you get married, which is correct. I'm going to get killed on taxes next year from getting married. Were you under the impression you get a substantial tax reward for getting married?

Thank you for posting that . I was about to post the same thing. Every year I pay more because of this . Plus1 for you !

Everything I've ever heard and read talk about things like funding your IRA with your spouse's income, inheriting each others retirement benefits, etc. There are also a multitude of legal issues that are non-tax related, such as the ability to make healthcare decisions.
