How bout we bring back polygamy it's popular around parts of the world. Don't want anyone to fell left out. Should there be a anything goes society? I could care less about who one chooses to have sex with or how many. That being said it one thing to be tolerate and forcing one to change Thier beliefs . As I understand it the law does not make being homosexual a crime it just doesn't recognize the marriage of same sex couples. If the law is changed to accept same sex marriage then were does one stop recognizing other forms of marriage . Would it not be considered bigotry toward other forms of marriage except same sex and opposite sex marriage of individuals if other forms of marriage were not legalized? I think the same argument would be applied to other forms of marriage and called bigotry . I don't care who one sleeps with but don't try and tell me it okay to legalize other forms of marriage outside of heterosexual singular marriage and it not become problematic .

I just don't understand why you care if they let 2 dudes get married? I couldn't give a damn.
Should the government really be able to determine these things? What about interracial marriage. Should a state be able to regulate that?
I just don't get it. Maybe it is that I am not religious enough to determine what others should be allowed to do.Countrybt

With all due respect what you don't understand is that for most of us the issue isn't about thinking less of gay people as it is about thinking more of marriage. I genuinely don't think badly of homosexuals. I want them to be successful. But, as long as you couch the discussion the way you do you'll never be able to have a productive discussion with someone with whom you disagree. I might be wrong on some issues, but I'm far from weak minded.

Here's my problem with this stance, good:
(a) Marriage was around before Christianity. It's been around for a long time. No one religion has the right to legislate the rules of marriage.
(b) IMO, marriage is what YOU make out of it. I'll never understand the stance that someone else's marriage, regardless of who they are, has an effect on your own. As long as you love your spouse, what's the issue?
To me, it really sounds like most people just don't want homosexuals to get the tax breaks that married couples do. That's really all I get out of the "institute" of marriage. I don't need anyone to tell me how much I love my girlfriend.

That article says that more often then not you pay more taxes when you get married, which is correct. I'm going to get killed on taxes next year from getting married. Were you under the impression you get a substantial tax reward for getting married?
