The Corner was great. It was cool how DAvid Simon kind of reversed rolls for actors from The Corner to The Wire. If they were law enforcement in The Corner, they were criminal on The Wire.
You also see scenes in The Corner and Homicide that made their way to the Wire.

Homicide was a network show (CBS maybe back in the 90's) based on David Simon's book (http://www.amazon.com/Homicide-Killing-Streets-David-Simon/dp/0805080759).
Interesting tidbit; Richard Belzers charater John Munch exists as the same guy in Homicide and in Law and Order.
