OT: Your top 5 favorite wrestlers of all-time?

  • 1."The Legion of Doom" -(Road Warriors, King Kong Bundy, The Spoiler, Jake "The Snake" Roberts) Paul Ellering-Manager
    2. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
    3. Junkyard Dog- watched him bench 405 for 5-6 easy reps at Gold's Gym in Montgomery in 1993. JYD is now deceased.
    4. Austin Idol- maybe not as well-known but he was big-time in South Alabama in the early/mid 1980s
    5. The 4 Horseman (Rick Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Lex Luger)

****Special note to Brad Armstrong (Real family surname James) who along with his 3 brothers (which include Road Dog Jesse James) were the wrestling sons of "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. Had the chance to meet Brad at a supplement store here in ATL Metro 1.5-2 years ago. He looked great at the time.... Muscular/Lean at age 49-50. Brad passed away on Nov 1st.

Already have more respect for Shane Douglas. Never cared for him in WWF or even WCW after ECW, but in ECW, he's awesome. Even had the perfect sidekick skank.

Shane Douglas was never higher than a mid carder in WWF or WCW. But he got a deserved main event push & mutiple world title runs in ECW. WWF & WCW kinda missed the boat on him because dude was pretty talented & a good worker in the ring & on the mic. His early years in WCW he was in a few different tag teams that did next to nothing & when he went to WWF, they gave him a cheesy school teacher gimmick & had him job to Shawn Michaels & Razor Ramon (Scott Hall). But yeah "The Franchise" gimmick worked for him. Francine..meh.

  • ECW entrances were great too because they didnt care about using licensed music. Sandman, RVD, New Jack, Chris Candido, Al Snow, all great entrances

Don't get me wrong ... she wasn't my cup of tea, but I think she worked great as Douglas's valet.

The music added to the promotions overall rogue coolness.

  • This thread is now about underrated/never-talked-about matches that you think were great.

This is a Mr. Perfect/Tito Santana match from 1990. It is awesome and even includes a promo where Perfect calls himself the "perfect animal" and mentions that he's never had any cavities. lol

Also, I know I miss Jesse Ventura calling Tito Santana "Chico Santana" as much as everybody else.

    WATCH IT OR DIE.

Good one. Mr. Perfect was truly one of the best performers. I'll never know why Vince didn't put him in the world title picture. You were also right, when you said in an earlier post that Mr. Perfect made Bret Hart a star by putting him over at summer slam 91. He also had a good feud with the late Kerry Von erich for the I.C title. There are probably also a few gems of Curt Hennig from his days in the old AWA.
