Our ground game is our most known commodities going into the season. Solid OLine and productive, experienced backs as well as talented deep freshman bench. I hope our passing game is ready to go. Early reports are positive for EJ and the receivers.

Not so fast my friend, last year we average/awful rushing against good teams or good run defenses

Vs. Florida we ran 41 times for 112, a 2.7 yards per carry average

Vs. VT in the ACC Champ we ran 28 times for 53 yards, a 1.9 yards per carry average

Vs. Clemson we ran 30 times for 97 yards, a 3.2 yards per carry average

Vs. OU we ran 32 times for 123 yards, a 3.8 yards per carry average, most of this came in garbage time

We should have a good ground game, but its just as big a question mark as the passing attack in big games

Fair enough, obviously we struggled at times but it is still more of a known than what our passing game will be.

  • A recent NCAA 2012 simulation game had OU winning 33-22, so i'm going OU.

IF, and that is a big IF..OU comes out playing like they should, OU wins easily...but everyone knows that OU recent struggles on the road but I still think OU but very close.

this is such a homeristic answer

  • OU wins by 10. Who said fsu was too fast? I hope there o line is better or it could get ugly

OL wasn't the problem last year

    Who ya got?

OU in a close one. I think this game surprises people with a low scoring affair.
FSU's defense is much improved and FSU's offense still needs some fine tuning that early in the season with a new QB.
Having said all that I can see a FSU win and think it is much more likely than many people think.
Could special teams play a big part in the outcome? Certainly and I think FSU has the advantage there.

  • Gonna go with OU in a close one unfortunately. I don't think we will be blown out again but I just don't see us quite there yet to be able to take down a team like OU. If we play a solid game and OU isn't ready I can see us winning though. It will be exciting.

    Marshall Nole

  • eh, gimme the Noles.

  • I think the Noles could pull it off, but I got OU in a much better game then last year

  • Both teams are very similar to last year, with FSU having lost their QB and best OL. It will only be closer because it's in Tally. That said, if both teams play their best, OU wins by 13. FSU just doesn't have the OL or QB to play with them yet imo. I'm more curious to see how FSU will react to playing Clemson in Death Valley, the week after this game with OU. That is a dangerous game for them. I think two of FSU's three losses this year are OU and Clemson back to back.

  • Didn't we have a long thread about this a couple of weeks ago???

  • IMHO, I think Oklahoma is the better team and will win this football game. I believe their D will create a lot of challenges for FSU offense. What FSU needs, is to force some TO's early and they could pull out the win. However, I will go on record saying that I think FSU will win the ACC this year and no coach deserves it more than Jimbo Fisher. He does things the right way on and off the field. I'm speaking just within the walls of the ACC fyi. He will be a great coach for awhile and will be a good ambassador for a conference that is looking to make strides on the national landscape of college football.

There will be at least 12 more until the actual game

This is a huge game and everybody is already focused on it

Swizz, who do you have and why? If OU's offense is clicking, they can put up a lot of points really quick....FSU's offense and defense isn't there yet...improved yes.

  • OU by double digits.

    BornToBeRed

  • OU by 7.

I do not predict a high scoring affair. The OU offense will outscore an FSU team with a somewhat new QB. It will be a good competitive game.
