Seems rather unfair to grade presidents so recent. It seems more opinionated and unagreeable for either because of it. Also Obama could have a second term to either do worse or better.

Bush didn't need it because we were attacked on our own soil. Obama needs it because this thing called the constitution says so.

Dont you remember? Iraq was harboring WMDs and was full of al Queda, ergo guilty by association of 9/11. When we found out most of that was BS,then we were freeing the Iraqis from a dictator.

My biggest problem with the Bush years was the amount of money being spent. Everybody can use different metrics in grading a president, but by the one I use Obama is far worse. Its funny to me because I know people who told me they were voting for Obama so he'd get spending under control.

man, bush spent SO much more money, hell, the bills for his stupid wars aren't even IN yet.

he buried us in debt over warmongering, which, i honestly believe, by following the money, was more about cronyism and kickbacks than anything else. Hell, Fffkin Halliburton? really? does ANYONE believe that the VP got nothing out of the deal?

  • Deemed the OP's story the furthest thing from credible when, upon scrolling through the site, I see articles titled:

Arpaio investigation: Obama might be Kenyan
Look who wants to enact Islamic law
    and
9 of 10 in poll: Time for impeachment [where the first sentence is: "An unscientific poll today revealed that nearly 9 in 10 respondents say it’s time now to move on impeachment proceedings for Barack Obama."]

    Ok.

I've seen lots of seemingly conflicting charts n' graphs on this, but I've yet to see any numbers that don't show Obama hasn't spent more or at the very least is on a trajectory to spend much more.

Here's the other problem: wars, despite what the bumper stickers say, do have beginning and an end. Government programs not only don't end, they have annual escalators.

If you think the president started a war to make money, I can't really help you. Don't you think there are ways for the most powerful man in the world to make money without needing to go to war?

The nature of the MIC and the defense budget pretty much show we've been at war since WWII started. It's all about whether the issue has been solved reactively or proactively or not solved at all. People knew that entitlement programs were going to be strained when the baby-boomers hit retirement age. We weren't proactive about it. We just kept putting it off and we are effed. Defense spending is no different. Both need to be solved.

I gave the OP the benefit of the doubt, but when I looked at other reports on the matter,it seems pretty clear the whole thing was taking out of context.

i never said he went to war to make money.

i DID say that he buried us in debt, which, i honestly believe, was more about cronyism and kickbacks than anything else.

i do not believe that HE took us to war to make money... i believe Dickhead Cheney did, however, as he was the one calling the shots on most of that...

you don't believe that? you didn't see the gravy train line up behind dummy DUBYA and his john wayne ass when he was making the decision? if not, then explain to me the discretionary budgeting that took place to divert money from the military to the privateers...

Yea. All those lives lost both American,Iraqi, coalition forces for all those WMDs we found. I'll admit we took out a dictator and killed some al Queda. Was it worth the lives, the debt, the destabilization of a region, rising oil prices etc. It also sets an unstable precedent as well.

Clinton didn't get congressional approval for the Kosovo campaign, and Obama didn't do it for Libya.

Under the War Powers Act, The President can pretty much attack anyone he wishes as long as its less than 60 days.

There is a long list of wars not approved by Congress before the War Powers Act was enacted.

If the US bombed Syria for 60 days, and then handed the operation over to NATO there isn't much you could impeach Obama for because that would be legal.

    BUT BUT BUT, IMPEACHMENT!

for real, though, on a real note... if you all were to meet him and know him, you would know he is a great guy, salt of the earth, shirt off the back kind of guy...

politically? we rarely see eye to eye, but he is, at least, a good enough guy that it never bothers our freindship.

so, while i do get that it is all in spirited debate, in reality, he reads a lot of this shit on everything and hears the pundits, and it pisses him off cuz he loves this country so much...

I feel you're saying contradictory things. On one hand he didn't take us to war to make money, on the other hand he took us to war knowing he'd make money. This is basically a distinction without a difference.

I mean, these guys were already mega rich to begin with, yet these things are on their mind? I feel this plays into the gigantic silly Bush "Chimphitlerburton" narratives we were beat over the head with for four years.

As for favoring contractors over soliders, don't you suppose the fact that nobody sheds a tear for a contractor vs. an 18 year old GI might be factored in there? Consider it a rhetorical question, no offense but I don't feel I'm going to get especially objective answers from you on any questions involving George W. Bush.

i didn't read much more than the first sentence.

    wow...

    how little you know me.

here is what i believe about bush.

he is a ffkin bumbling idiot that fell into every job he ever had... backwards, while looking the other way at a cat playing with a ball of yarn.

do i believe he was literally in control of this country? hell no. i do believe when we let him play boss man, it was the darkest hours of our earth's history...

most of his policy was too complex for the retard to figger out, and yes, though he was successful at havng people run the country for him, he opened the door to every carpetbagger in a suit with a cross lapel pin

Are ya joking? We invaded Iraq who only nominally had connections to Laden. If we used the same basis for invading other countries we did for Iraq, we would already have invaded another dozen countries.

I don't recall Iraq attacking us at all, do you?
