"Illegal immigrants who haven't been breaking the law will be given opportunities to stay". Nothing like someone who's very geographical existence is illegal being given a pass based on their conformity to the law.

"The democrats want immigration reform and he hopes republicans join them"......holy shit!

"Republican candidates and others need to not talk about war so flippantly" ---- blatantly ridiculous statement

He also still believes he can talk Machmoud out of wanting a nuclear weapon.

Blue states fund red states. Also another fun fact, poll released yesterday had Obama beating every GOP candidate six to one or better in Latino vote.

Newsweek had an editorial in '09 that said if naturalized every working illegal immigrant,we'd almost close to the entitlement gap. This is just my opinion, but not only is legal immigration too tight, the nature of anti-illegal sentiment is counter to principles of the America.

Clearly the case seeing as a terrible Democrat president is about to win a second term pretty easily. Should probably use that voice to get some real candidates to run instead of that circus of clowns currently traveling from caucus to caucus

Actually, the red states (also known as the entire south) are the poorest states and the largest consumers of social programs in the Nation.

    Makes sense...

Your assumption republicans are rich and hard-working while democrats are poor and dependent is false. So let's just get over that. What's next on your list of BS statistics?

So you think those free loaders vote republican? Negative ghostrider...

They either vote democrat or don't vote. Those of us with JOBS vote republican here while the rest just sit around & collect half of our pay check. No flame. Just being honest. Up North is completely different. Southern democrats are why most of us are so right wing natured.

The South are the ones on welfare.

There is nothing wrong with that. You can not support something and still use welfare in time of need. I'm a liberal and that's counterproductive.

Take out the rich and poor part and I agree with it.... Around here at least.

Does anyone else understand why GOPers feel the unnecessary need to correlate hard work with voting preference? Also the need to be the SOLE bread-winner in an argument? I pay taxes and only those dependent,Democrats get all the benefits....I don't get anything(not true),so no one gets anything.

Ironically though the average Democrat is smarter and more educated than the average Republican.

This would lead one to believe on average we have better jobs... and therefore, work harder, by your reasoning.

I am not saying there aren't hard working democrats.... All I said is where I live, the people asking for hand outs are the same ones yelling CHANGE. Up North it's different. They are actually EDUCATED. Down here, it's just sad.

I think you are muddling assumptions and confusing correlations.

In this, it shows Democrats are slightly more likely than the national average to have college degrees.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/150611/democrats-liberal-less-white-2008.aspx

In the same thing by the same people they ignore the college question, leading one to believe they are not following the same trend.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/150386/Republicans-Nationwide-Similar-Composition-2008.aspx

That was the most recent evidence I found in spending 5 minutes looking it up.

This is fundamentally incorrect because it is based on percentage, yes, by percentage, there are higher percentage of social program consumers, but when you look at raw data, the real story comes out. In raw dollars received, NY, PA, CA, MA, IL and MI are all at the top of the list... FAR outweighing the dollars spent in red states.

In fact CA alone outspends the following typically red states COMBINED:
AK, NE, NV, UT, WV, NM, AR, MS, OK, LA, and AK

Add NY, NJ, Mass, PA, MI, WI, MN, DC and IL, and they outspend the rest of the country. Thats Ten states outspending the other 41 in entitlement dollars.

So when you are looking at DOLLARS which is what you do when you are looking to make cuts and budgets, the cute little red blue US maps showing % of population and dollars spent per recieved etc do nothing but obfuscate the truth... the blue states FAR outspend the rest of the country.

I generally report studies that aren't inherently political.

The last one was a satire on things rich people shouldn't say, the one before that (I believe) was on a study on ideologies of the rich.
