Dead people don’t need cell phones. That’s the message Rep. Tim Griffin of Arkansas wants to send Congress, after he says a controversial government-backed program that helps provide phones to low-income Americans ended up sending mobiles to the dead relatives of his constituents.

Do some research on the actual legislation and you will see that they are working on a free Internet system that is supposed to be out soon. I am assuming that everyone that pays for Internet service will see their bill increase so that low income households will not have to pay for their Internet usage.
But don't you dare even use the words socialism or redistribution. They will tell you that this isn't a gov't issue it's a corporation issue but did anyone really expect the phone companies to eat these costs and not pass them on to the consumers? Same as corporate taxes. People scream corporate welfare but if a business has its cost to produce a product increase then the price of products will rise and make higher prices for the consumers. Higher prices on goods + shrinking wages for households is not a good thing.

Because the program tripled under his watch and goes along with his idea of buying votes with free shit. Also, there is a famous video of an Obama supporter acting a fool about it and how Obama got free phones for everyone in Cleveland so all the poor people should get out and support him.
Do the math. There was more spent on free phone fraud in 2012 than the entire program cost in 2008.
