Frankly ,, I knew, I read here very day but seldom post.
Bamalives football frankly makes me cringe every time he posts.
I think he is a very young man, as no one with very much life experience could be as faulty in their view of the way life really works.

  • And do you guys realize just how many people 2.2 billion dollars serves? Assuming these are the cheapest phones with the cheapest plans ($25 per month), you are talking like 7 million people... doesn't that number seem a bit high? Shouldn't this just be like one phone per household? That would be like 6% of US households are on this plan.

Yep. It needs to be done away with. Having a cell phone is a privilege

It is quoted in many places.
I know it goes against your agenda so you deny it,,, just like your first response to any Obama negatives is to deny his responsibility !,,,, but it don't always work.

Obama is not responsible for the free phones. In fact, he will serve as President for 8 years without being responsible for a single negative thing.

You start off with the woman not having to worry about putting gas in her car anymore
Then in Detroit, you have them lined up for blocks for obama money. Where does the money come from? I don't know, guess it's Obama's
Got an obama phone, go vote for him and get you one too.

    Absolutely pitiful

Oh don't stop there...he's working on legislation to overturn Presidential Term limits....he wants to start working on his 2016 Campaign......

No he didn't. It's a common misquote of a common aphorism (exactly the same as the democrat when you're 20, republican when you're 40).

Find me one even moderately reputable source that attributes that quote.

I know you will argue the validity,, but that is all you do anyway,, argue and deny... I could post 50 links and you would dispute them all... I must admit that you are persistent.
I understand why you are so pro-entitlement.. Because it seems unlikely you have a relevant job, with the amount of time you spend here defending all things Obama.

Live a little,, get some "real life " experience. And then we will see if your stance changes,,l I feel it will, Most do.

First off. No. That won't cut it. It's a neat little aphorism, but please don't attribute it to someone incorrectly.

    Aww,, the truth hurts?
You can't handle debate so you resort to profanity..
And yes,, real life. That is what we are talking.
Real grown men and women who earn pay checks and have them slashed to redistribute wealth to others in the real world... For things they don't "need"
Not some text book garbage or liberal professor telling you how things should be in their Utopian society.
I live in the real world outside the classroom... I have my degrees so I know the fantasy world many in academia spew.
And yes,, you have proven all of the above statements through your posts... So I am not sure what all the "lol" is about.

And as far as knowing you? We all only truly know each other through our words and actions... I have not seen your actions but I have seen more than enough of your words to "know you".
And honestly,, if you " lol" at those things, then you may want to change the image that you project on here daily...
And let's move the burden of truth... Prove he didn't say it ...

That is exactly right. If you can't afford it, you don't deserve it. No one is entitled to anything

So question: Say we reached a point technologically where we could blanket the U.S. in wireless internet so efficiently that we could do so for free. Should we hold back that technology simply because we feel the need to charge people for it? So that it is not an entitlement?

The irony in this is too much.

Since I know you'd like to know: I'm a junior college student double-majoring in Finance and International Business at a small Christian university (hardly a bastion of liberalism). I've worked part-time since I was allowed (16) and have paid taxes (only lending my money interest-free on income taxes however since I never made enough as a student to not qualify for a refund). I grew up in a moderate household, live in one of the most conservative states in the country, have gone to conservatives schools my entire life.

I lean liberal on most things but hardly am your stereotype that you so douche-ly claim me to be.

Pro-entitlement? This is a ridiculous stance. No I'm not pro-entitlement. I, unlike many ITT, hold hard-work and personal responsibility as mutually exclusive from almost every welfare program sans actually TANF benefits.

Defending Obama at every turn? Since you apparently know me by my words you'd know I don't do this. I have disagreed and called him out on a number of things including compromising in 2011 on unemployment for tax cuts, KXL, drones and the wars, ACA, Dodd-Frank, stance on drugs etc. Apparently since I don't like people who like to perpetuate falsehoods like the Obamaphone perjorative, I'm a card-carrying socialist with my nose up BO's ass.

Winston Churchill didnt say it. Burden of proof is in your court boss.

But please. Stop coming on here bitching about problems that don't really exist (a VERY small percentage of your taxes paid go to what you would consider "redistribution") and project some hatred for people you philosophically disagree onto me.

That is an overly simplistic example. Nothing is for free. It would be a huge cost both to impliment and maintain. Why even bring that scenario up? Of course if things were free, everyone should have them. It would be a right then, not an entitlement.

Do some research on the actual legislation and you will see that they are working on a free Internet system that is supposed to be out soon. I am assuming that everyone that pays for Internet service will see their bill increase so that low income households will not have to pay for their Internet usage.

But don't you dare even use the words socialism or redistribution. They will tell you that this isn't a gov't issue it's a corporation issue but did anyone really expect the phone companies to eat these costs and not pass them on to the consumers? Same as corporate taxes. People scream corporate welfare but if a business has its cost to produce a product increase then the price of products will rise and make higher prices for the consumers. Higher prices on goods + shrinking wages for households is not a good thing.

Do some research on the actual legislstion and you will see that you are functionally illiterate.

They are going to expand broadband connectivity by charging more for people that live in Urban areas.

The same way that urban communites like Chicago or NYC currently subsidize the telephone service of people that live in Trailer Parks in rural Alabama, which is part of the same law that gives "free phones to black people so they can vote for Obama"

Because the program tripled under his watch and goes along with his idea of buying votes with free shit. Also, there is a famous video of an Obama supporter acting a fool about it and how Obama got free phones for everyone in Cleveland so all the poor people should get out and support him.

Do the math. There was more spent on free phone fraud in 2012 than the entire program cost in 2008.

A program signed into Law by George Bush in 2008, at the behest of the Telecommunications lobby, is solely the fault of Obama?

Then in that case George Bush is solely reponsible for the current recession, because none of the mistakes from the Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, era matter right?

Step out of the bubble Justin.
