Of Beilein, Izzo and Matta, who wins a natty first?

  • Izzo has one, so not counting that, who is the first to cut down the last set of nets? Objectively, I have to go with Coach B. He's got the momentum and he has pulled UM's program even with the other two using a cast of players largely from the land of misfit toys. Izzo might get one more NC before he retires, but he looks tired and has lost the fire he had when he took over at MSU. And Matta has recruited as well as anyone since he's been in Columbus and still hasn't been able to get it done. The talent level at OSU is on the downswing and if Matta couldn't win a natty with guys like Oden and Turner and Sullinger he never will.

  • MSU
    OSU
    UM

I'd don't buy just yet that UM is on the same level as OSU and MSU.

Jeez the troll card is becoming more prevalent than the race card. You asked a question , I gave my opinion... where is the troll?

Easy. It was a joke. It's not like I put a $2,000 bounty on your head. Geez.

  • That original post is hilarious.

Izzo. Matta can't get it done. Great recruiter though. Beilein? Isn't he older than Izzo? I'm not sure how much longer he's going to coach. Good coach though and works his system well. If his teams go cold, he's done.

Matta can't finish a season, Izzo IMHO.... who's Beilein?

They are going to be very good this year. Mcgary's development will be the difference.. if he goes they go..

Yeah, the back and forth has been over the top lately. Everyone's a bit on edge. I really meant it as a joke.

Actually, I think GRIII is going to be the better of the two, but McGary is desperately needed. Being crushed on the boards every game has gotten very, very old.

  • Objective opinion, considering I'm a Kentucky fan. Izzo has the best chance to win another NC, before Matta or Bielein ( most likely misspelled, forgive me.)

    Keep Calm & Stoops On..

  • Izzo is one of the best game coaches in the business. UM fans need to worry about getting by the bobcats before they can seriously predict Beilein to win a national title. Matta will break through sooner or later, unless his back causes him to retire early, which I can see a very realistic possibility.

  • 2 things the OP pulled completely out of his ass:

Izzo is tired and lost the passion he once had.
OSU's talent is on a downswing.

    Ol Drippy21167

  • I think us Michigan fans are overrating the effect McGary will have. I'd be happy if he gave us 10 rebounds and a couple hustle plays every game; we don't need him to score much. I'm interested to see how Stauskas does, because he is often mentioned as one of the better 3-point shooters in the 2012 class. He can probably handle the ball and defend better than Vogrich too, so he might vulture some of Matt's minutes.

    Jack Daniels

  • The Big10 should be very competitive next year though. Maybe not as much as this year as OSU and Wisky will regress some, but the mid to lower tier teams like Purdue, Minnesota, and Iowa should improve. I'm interested to see how Minnesota plays with Mbakwe back. They could be a dark horse candidate to finish in the top 3.
