Of Hoke, Dantonio, and Meyer, who wins a natty...

And MSU gets blown out a couple times a year so I am suppose to believe they will win a national title? I will take the team with the coach who has been at his school one year and won 11 games. I will take the coach who is recruiting top 10/top 5 classes. What say you about the fact that no team has won a national title in the last 10 years without a top10/top 5 recruiting class that contributed heavily to that national title team? Sure sounds like Hoke has a better chance at a national title than Dantonio.

um has always out recruited MSU, but it's been 4 years in a row

    So just say it then.

The B10 is better than the SEC.

Also, Mich was way way luckier to have Woodson. OSU was even luckier the refs gave them the gm vs Miami, and Auburn was undefeated in 04...

See how dumb your logic is?

If Miami was so much better the refs shouldn't have mattered. Blame Miami for not being good enough in the first place.

  • hoke will take more money and move to the NFL if he pans out if not he will be fired within two to three years, Dantonio is solid but not there yet. Coach Meyer easily.

lol that wasn't the point. I asked specifically about needing a top 10/top 5 class to win a national title. I see you ignored that part. I wonder why.

Look at it this way, Auburn got extremely lucky with Cam Newton, Bama shouldn't have even been in the title game last year, and LSU was a two loss team in 2007. Doesn't help other conferences that the media rides the SECs d*ck. If Michigan wasn't allowed in the game in 2006, why was Bama allowed in this year?

Bama > Michigan... It's really that simple.

They could use a new division that doesn't have the Packers in it.

  • I think Hoke. Meyer was really unveiled the last 18 months in Florida. He's an incredible PR guy who can recruit and motivate but at the end of the day he's an insecure, egregiously shady, WR coach.

Yeah, it's called the Super Bowl. Not being able to go to it sucks when you have a team that will win your division for the foreseeable future.

  • I would go with Meyer right now, because Hoke has only been a head coach at a BCS level for one year and a lot of his success in 2011 was built on playing an incredibly easy schedule

I know MSU fans will disagree with this, but I think Dantonio is a lot like Kirk Ferentz. At the end of Ferentz's sixth year in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes had won back to back January games, lost an Orange Bowl, been ranked 8th after the bowls 3 years in a row, and recruited his first top-10 class. What happened then? Things cycled back down, then back up to an Orange Bowl win, and now back down again. I expect that MSU will see similar peaks and valleys if Dantonio stays in East Lansing as long as Ferentz has been at Iowa, but I highly doubt either Dantonio or Ferentz have a real national title shot at their current schools

You're making yourself look pretty stupid. Just a reminder, Michigan was driving for the game tying touchdown at the end of the game, not like MSU dominated them. Michigan played like garbage and almost beat MSU, once Hoke gets his players in his system, you may not see MSU win another game for a decade or so.

Okay aside from your excuses because both teams can play that game. I see you fail to mention the penalties that kept you in the game. Or Keshawn Martin's dropped TD. We were the better team. period.

So let's get this straight. One poster talks about how you are not going to win a national title getting "blown out". Now MSU loses to ND and Nebraska in probably their worst performances of the year. 21 and 18 points. ND was a lot closer than that but that's what the scoreboard said. Fair enough.

The only problem with this is that a Michigan poster is referring to these losses as why MSU can't compete for a national title. What happens when Michigan loses to MSU? Hoke gets a 49% chance at a title? It doesn't add up. Let's hear a different reason other than 247 sports recruiting rankings says so. It'd be nice for a different angle once in a while.
