Until we can consistently compete with sec type teams and not pull off an upset here or there, I can't disagree.

That isn't the point. You don't have to beat both Alabama and LSU to wn it all. Last year, if Oky State doesn't blow it against Iowa State, they would have only had to of beaten LSU. Do I think Alabama was better than Oky State? Absolutely, however, it wouldn't of mattered. Had they gone 12-0 then beat LSU, they would have been crowned the champs. Same goes for the B1G if a team goes 13-0, they make it to the Championship Game. Unfortunately no one did, so Alabama got their 2nd chance and made the most of it.

Would we still have to play an sec team in the championship? Also, anytime you use the phrase "if this would have happened" in discussing these things, you don't think that makes a weak argument?

Now we get to have a playoff and your scenario of a one game upset becomes more implausible.

Not really. Oky state was that close last year and had you watched the game they lost in 3ot, you would of seen their attempted game winning field goal in regulation miss not because it was wide right, but because their kickers leg was so strong he pushed it so that it was dead even with the imaginary extension of the upright from the left hash. Had the upright extended that much higher, the kick redirects and is good. However, In this case you are right it didn't. Never the less, last year was that close to being the exact opposite of your argument.

Point is, being in a major conference and winning it unscathed, you will get in over an 11-1 non-conference or divisional winner.

Again, you have to resort to "if this would have happened". Lots of "If's" Then, they would have had to beat LSU. Just because Bama made them look bad, doesn't mean oky state would, again you're using an "if" scenario. Now, let's face it, a playoff doesn't help the big ten. Now we need to go 15-0. 14-1 if we lose early in our division. Then those last two games will have to be against the sec. That ain't easy, especially since our conference has proven otherwise.

It was one if. And once LSU beat Bama, I liked Oky States chances against them. Now yes this could hurt the B1G, but in a one loss playoff you just need to have the better day, and anything is possible.

Absolutely, and we can start saying broncos/packers patriots/rams jets/colts. However, they're upsets and as you seem to agree, that's what our conference would need at this point. I understand that could change in a couple of years too, but right now, having to win our conference championship, then beat at least one, most likely two sec teams, well all I can say is buckle up.

Eee we will see, if the other conferences do their job and have an almost elite team, 2 teams from the SEC in the top 4 is unlikely. We shall see how it goes.

  • I'm going to say that they fake the handoff of the trophy to Dantonio and then throw it to Hoke.

You're playing the what if game also expecting 2 SEC teams in any playoff scenerio, and also saying if we beat the first one, the other one will win their game forcing us to play the other hypothethical SEC team also.

Michigan destroyed Neb last year and OSU will be breaking in a new offense, why are those losses?

breaking in a new offense that our QB stated is very similar to the one he is used too. He looked better in the spring game by a factor of ten. Our 4th string QB last year is cut from the same mold and moved up 2 spots with this offense
giving us (for the first time in years) the belief that if Miller gets hurts Guitton can step in and take over. I think UM is making a bigger transition on offense that OSU

  • Definitely won't be Dantonio. Maybe after a few more recruiting classes Hoke will have a team capable of competing. Right now my money would be on Urban.

The fact you don't see a difference is funny, but expected. I now realize you just can't read that well.

Difference: we are all SPECULATING as to what might happen in the future because, well, it didn't happen yet. Get it?

He was taking events that already happened and saying "if this happened instead"........

Why bother, I know you somehow won't comprehend that again.

You want to explain how you grade out a Rimington Award winner as "decent" again. Your eye test grades are lol material.

I'll say it again, because you get embarrassed easy on these boards and change the subject when you look like an ass. (as you just did baker college boy). Molk is ver good, I'll let you tell me how many centers were drafted before him. Awards like that are given on many qualities and the young man greatly deserved it. The NFL scouts, believed there were other centers worthy of taking before the Rimington award. He deserves the NFL, he's smart and good, but might have problems against 3-4's in the league because of size. He will do well in any zone blocking type thing because he's quick and smart

Now that you've changed the subject because you have horrible reading comprehension and analytical skills, and are embarrassed by them, I hope that answered both of your foolish posts.

Hoke is 2-3 years away with his recruiting. Meyer can make a run next year, imo.

    xxmgobluexx

  • okay fair enough but Hoke has had more time than Meyer in his position at UM ; recruiting is going to get a lot tougher in conf with the addition of Meyer

I dunno....I mean look at our 2013-4 schedule and tell me that's not a joke.

@ Notre Dame, Michigan, and @ Nebraska. I agree, when those are the toughest games of the schedule you've got a chance. Must admit I have no idea what you have coming back after this season though.

    hines011

  • its very tough for anyone to win a title...

to win it you most lilkely need to go undefeated or have maybe 1 loss (under the current format)...

coach d, great coach but doesnt have the horses for a natty stretch run...

hoke, again, great coach and will have the horses but schedule is brutal and i dont see an undefeated season in the near future...

meyer, been there and won it in the sec (by far the best conf.) is getting the horses and the future schedules are not all that daunting....

so i would say meyer wins 1 or 2, hoke wins a couple B1G titles and Rose Bowls but no nattys and coach d is happy beating um once every 3 times going forward (i know, i know msu has won 4 straight but that kind of dominance is rare)

Look everyone who read that thread knows you got mad because I was laughing at your strategy of not releasing your linemen downfield until the ball crossed the line of scrimmage. What would they be doing looking to clip somebody? You can change subjects all you want baker boy, the thing is anyone who read that thread knows why you got so mad. Again in this one you'll change subjects when you get called out for saying something dumb. Just scroll up and re-read it. Now give me those roll laughy guys you do when your embarrassed.
