    #1 Ohio State (11-0) vs. #2 Mich*gan (11-0) 2006 - final score 42-39. You couldn't script it any better.

    That was a helluva fun game to watch. I don't think it will get considered though because it wasn't on the biggest stage (a national championship game or defacto NC bowl game). But I loved it.

    You meant to say.....I hate good defense. Before you or any other moron wants to talk about how shitty our offenses were, go look at our average points per game against all the other teams both teams played. Yes both of our defenses were just that good. Deal with it

    It's difficult to take any of you guys seriously...I mean, when Timmy was running his offense in Florida, you clowns were saying that "defense isn't as exciting as a great offense" BS en masse since y'all coattail each other- USC had a defense for the ages (there was that blip away in Corvallis and Florida had that blip at home vs ole miss, or whatever third tier sec team it was), and an offense that caught up by the end of the season. Basically proves you will pimp whatever side of the ball is dominant in the SEC.

    pretty sure the tx-usc game had just as many, and if it didn't, it was a very small delta. every texas starter save lb aaron harris played in the nfl, not to mention half the 2deep on defense, qb, wr and te. usc was pretty much the same.

    I can agree with that statement. Only Bama in the National Championship game played to win the game. The first game both teams played not to lose and played with the most vanilla game plan ever assembled.

    just googled it, 1984 orange bowl for natl title...

    neb #1 with turner gill, rozier( heismann yr) and irving fryar...loses by 1 when 2 pt conversion gets tipped...

    nada brother... that game felt good for an Alabama fan (as it should)... the rest of the country was sorely disappointed by the lack of preperation or torn locker room or whatever it was that made LSU nowhere near the "team" they had been all year.... Congrats on the victory, but that was the all time worst Championship game ever played...

    1971 ou nebraska. period
    Also had a rare playoff that year.
    at the end of the regular season
    #1 nebraska played and beat #2 ou
    #3 Alabama blistered #4 auburn.
    in the bowl games nebraska and ou crushed Bama and auburn.

    Game of the century has to have build up. It's called the game of the century before they actually play the game. the 84 orange bowl was a great and memorable game...but nebraska was a double digit favorite. They only question leading up to the game was is this the best team of all time. it wasn't, and it dawned the era of the canes dynasty.

    amazing defense. and think the winner of that game got exposed playing a team from a real conference. 80 total yards against the gators in the title game.
    then michigan went out and got their annual rose bowl beatdown against usc.
    that 1 2 match up in reality was really a 12 v 13 matchup.
    big 10 should merge with the mac

    I'm going to say 71 Nebraska vs Oklahoma. I've heard a lot about that 1971 Cornhusker team as the best single college football team of all time, I think it would have been awesome to watch them play.

    That '71 OU team was phenomenal as well. One of the best of all time.

    I'd say '71 OU-Nebraska. HOFers on the field and on the sidelines, and a very competitive game.

    I don't consider last year's LSU-Bama game a "Game of the Century" because Miles isn't a HOF coach, and there was only one HOF player on the field, and even that is debatable (TRich).
