"History will show that the flip of Rueben Foster to Auburn will go down as the single-most important event in changing the perception of the little/big brother roles in college football in the state of Alabama. Mainly because of what this manchild beast will do inside Jordan-Hare Stadium and the publicity that has surrounded the flip (press conference, tattoo, etc.). Not to mention the laundry list of fellow defensive recruits that are salivating at a chance to play with this wrecking ball on the field. This guy's magnetism and mentality are no different that Cam's. Both are once in a generation players and we'll have had them in Orange in Blue in a span of four years. I've never seen a time in which truly informed Alabama fans, not the toothleess Wal-Mart Muldykes, have been in such anxiety and agony over the direction of the Auburn Football program. I love every second of it, and they see what's happening and can't do anything about it. When you treat your players as family members and they play for you out of respect and admiration, things like 28-27 happen. When you have players that fear their coach, see rampant gray-shirting, bogus medical departures and wonder if they will have their scholarship the following year, things like a 24-0 complete meltdown implosion against your hated rival happen. It all starts at the top and CGC will go down as a legendary coach in college football history, not just Auburn history, Book It. I tell all of the Bammers without hesitation that CGC will win more national championships at Auburn than Satan will at UTea. If you hook me up to a polygraph while saying it, I would pass because that's how much I believe it to be true. The perception of Auburn Football in-state and on a national level is changing. September 1st is about to open the country's eyes as to what tenacious Auburn football is all about, and I can't wait to watch the look on little dabo's face. These are great times to be an Auburn Tiger. A dynasty is in the making, and if you don't see it, you don't have a clue. War Damn Chizik and War Damn Eagle."

1-11 is a real possibility. This came from someone on the football staff. hell, if dye says they won't win one conference game, what kind of encouragement is that?

major friction between trooper recruits and the rest of the team. sad as a Bama fan we didn't get a few more years out of chizik. he's lost the team and the coaches.

I'm going 45-7 with auburn getting a KO return for TD

I say 52-0. 62-0, if Saban allows Sims and Drake to "wildcat it" down the field for the entirety of the fourth quarter. Jake Holland--prepare your anus.

WHERE WILL THEY BE IN 2015 COACH CHIZIK AND COACH SABAN

As I was trying to get back to a normal day after yesterday's roller coaster ride I started thinking about how far Coach Chizik has brought our program in such a short time. When the coaching change was made I was neither excited nor disappointed in the selection of Chizik. Certainly, his lack of wins at Iowa State were not indicative of his success as a defensive coordinator. The dynamics at a place like Iowa State are light years away from any program in the SEC. I was more indifferent to the hiring. I simply felt like he was our new coach and he deserved the chance to prove himself either way. The program was not where it should be when he arrived and it seemed liked we needed a new enthusiasm for Auburn football. As he started to assemble his staff it got my attention right away. The staff he assembled as we now know was impressive. Chizik said at the time of his hiring he had a plan. He also said something else that caught my attention. He stated what we all new "That Auburn is a very special place". It was then that I felt two things would change. First, that this staff would sell our university to the very best recruits across the nation. Secondly, that for the first time in a long time we had a coach that was interested in being at Auburn for a very long time. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought in two short years we would be National Champs and one of the top 5 schools in recruiting. Remarkable indeed. It is a credit to Coach Chizik, his staff and most certainly the players who bought in to his vision. This leads me to this question...Where will Coach Chizik and Coach Saban be in 2015
When Coach Chizik was introduced there were snickers across the state from Bama fans that quite honestly turned to belly aching laughter. So many snide remarks about how far we had fallen behind them. It would be years, decades maybe even centuries before we could compete against them again. And while Auburn flounders Bama football would be a dynasty winning national championships year after year. They would dominate recruiting in the state. After all their coach is Nick Saban and we had just hired a coach with a 5-19 record as a head coach.
Please give me a moment while I stop laughing.
I believe when 2015 rolls around and it will not be that long folks Coach Chizik will still be at Auburn University. He will have had an impressive streak of 10+ victory seasons. He will have won several SEC championships. He will have proudly watched as his coaches become head coaches. He will become a cornerstone of not just Auburn University, but the Auburn community as well. In this day and age it is very hard for a coach to stay at the same school for more than 8-10 years. It takes a special demeanor. Chizik may have this quality. I see him at Auburn for a long time. Coach Chizik loves Auburn and Auburn loves him.
As for Coach Saban, I truly believe he is year to year right now. He has never been anywhere as a head coach past 5 years. There is a reason for that. He is very hard to work for. The qualities that make him a successful coach also work against him. Assistant coaches do not stay for very long. There are strong indications he is not that happy at UAT. Who would be, but that is another story. I do not think he likes his own fan base. Chizik embraces his fan base. I see Saban bolting within 2 years to the NFL or possibly another college job away from the SEC.
    The clock is ticking...

    Horsetrainer,
Great thoughts, and I agree completely! Can you imagine that great day when Saban finally clues in that he has the most egocentric, illiterate, misguided fan base in the nation, finds the greener pasture (WV, Michigan or MSU, Texas, Notre Dame, OSU, USC, etc...), when he's lost to "little brother" for 3 of 5 (or 4 of 6), and runs for it? I can see the damage control headlines now: SABAN BREAKS PROMISE...WE DIDN'T NEED HIM ANYWAY...WASN'T WORTH $7 MILLION/YEAR.
Meanwhile, Chizik quietly keeps selling a genuine product he believes in, recruiting young men of both talent and character, replacing good staff with more good staff, building relations in the A-O area, and establishing his legacy as a man of integrity as well as a true winner.
2015 is right around the corner, and we get to watch!

this is a key year for saban.
he has been to Atlanta twice in four years (1-1) and two BCS bowls (1-1 with a loss to Utah). He has a 2-2 record against AU.......and the blown lead/loss at home really stung.
The folks in Tuscaloosa did not shell out $32 mil and all the money for the stadium and recruiting and the staff just to go .500 against AU and to go to Atlanta "every now and then".....they want, demand and expect domination...........currently, the uat boosters are NOT getting value received for their investment.
IF, if uat misses out on Atlanta and looses in Auburn (2-3)...........look out!
"Just do what we do" and enjoy the show.
    WDE

If you step back and look Saban, Myer and Carroll are cut from the same cloth. USC's paying for Carroll now, Myer bailed and Saban's planning an exit strategy. None of these guys have a Paterno gene, They all were hired to return programs to glory years, and give them credit they did it. What turns around and bites the ones who hired them, is what's next? Look at the coaches out there, who's gonna replace these guys, Kiffen? Muschamp? There's not many young coaches out there ready to step into those shoes.

Auburn, preseason 2010.........Picked middle of the pack to bottom of the pack in the SEC West
Alabama preseason 2010...........Picked to win it all, again.
It's funny to me, that when something doesn't go right for Alabama it is considered a "building" year. This year(2011) is supposed to be "the" year, again. I think it is hilarious. The polar shift in this state has been happening for a long time and there is nothing Bama can do about it. All we needed was the right leader and we have found it. One who matched our ethics and believed. Well folks, look out! Some things are about to really change I feel like. There is a reason why all the coaches never left and stayed. I feel like something great is about to happen!
    Auburn 2010......BCS National Champions
    Alabama 2010.....Who cares

I couldn't agree with you more. I think that Chizik will be around for a long time and have great success. I hope we can keep Malzahn for a couple of more years too. I think Nick will be back in the NFL within 5 years. I bet in the back of his mind he still thinks he can conquer the NFL. But he will always have the memories of 28-27 .

35-0. We shut it down early. 2nd half is a complete snoozer minus AJ, Lacy, Cooper, well pretty much everybody.

We have more important things to worry about than running up the score on a team that has already had that happen to them about 11 times the past two seasons.
