Might be but given that both LOR and Avatar did much better than expected and this movie already has an established fan base I would not be surprised to see it do extremely well.

BTW I read somewhere that Dark Night Rises will probably not be able to put up the numbers that the Avengers did due to it not being made in 3D thus decreasing the number of actual theaters that will show it.

The Dark Knight made that much without the help of 3-D. I think it will make a ton if it lives up to the hype. People have been waiting on this movie since the Dark Knight.

Unless something has changed recently Nolan has been against 3D

Another reason why he is the best in the game right now.

  • Very good movie. Someone finally got Hulk right. Whedon has always made great shows and good movies... He nailed most of the characters perfectly.

Avengers looked great in 3d..so did the Prometheus trailer. If shot correctly and with the proper material 3d can be amazing. TDKR I would not see in 3d, but will probably watch Prometheus in 3d.

I saw Avatar in 3-D and I doubt that a movie has done 3-D better.

Still hated it. 3-D is the worst thing to ever happen cinema.

  • Prometheus looked bad ass.

Anyone notice that there's like 50 cartoon movies coming out?

They were referring to opening weekend sales, not total gross sales. Funny thing is that I believe that Avatar is the highest grossing movie to date (might be wrong on that) but I do know that it passed 1 billion in sales and the Dark Knight did as well. I would expect the Dark Knight Rising to at least do the sales that it's predecessor did.

I think that the problem with 3D is that everyone's brain processes the images different so what looks great for some others hate. I personally do not see 3D well and watching it gives me major headaches.

Hell yes it does. I found this trailer today....

I have not been this excited about a movie in, well I can't remember. To put my excitement in perspective however I saw all the Alien movies in the theater and the first ones are on my list of favorite movies.

I just prefer a crystal clear picture. If they can somehow make 3-D crystal clear I might be interested.

I really don't think it adds anything to the movie though.

Pretty crazy that Star Wars is still on that list despite the change in value of the dollar and the population increase.

Think the list means the Phantom Menace. It was released in 1999 and was hyped up like no other so it's not surprising. It also probably boosted it's box office total with the recent 3D re-release.

Yes. The first three released were episodes 4-6 and then the ones released more recently were episodes 1-3.

I tried watching Alice in Wonderland and 15 mins in I just said eff it. Blew. Transformers is fine for what it is, giant robots doing battle. Alice in Wonderland had no redeeming qualities.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

Christopher Nolan has been very open about his hatred for 3D and anytime he uses it, its pretty much cause his hand is forced.
