I know there is a separate Olympics thread, but IMO the premier event of every Olympic games deserves it's own thread. The 2012 United States women's gymnastic team members are (in order based on the picture posted):

Gabby Douglas
Aly Raisman
Kyla Ross
Jordyn Wieber
McKayla Maroney

Here is the NBC television schedule (since everything is going to be tape-delayed, I assume everyone is smart enough to NOT post results in this thread until they're aired by NBC. But just in case, NO SPOILERS, PEOPLE!). Times represent when NBC's coverage starts, not necessarily when they'll air the event.

Sunday, July 29 - Team qualification; 7pm EST
Tuesday, July 31 - Team finals; 8pm EST
Thursday, August 2 - All-around final; 8pm EST
Sunday, August 5 - Vault final; 7pm EST
Monday, August 6 - Uneven bars final; 8pm EST
Tuesday, August 7 - Balance beam and floor exercise finals; 8pm EST

This team is the favorite to win gold. On paper, they're amazing. Jordyn Wieber is the reigning all-around world champion and beam bronze medalist, Aly Raisman earned the bronze on the floor exercise, while McKayla Maroney is the vault champion. They're all young, however. Kyla Ross is only 15, while Wieber, Maroney and Gabby Douglas are 16. Raisman is the veteran of the team at 18. In order to win the gold, they'll have to get over the fact that billions of people will be watching them in one of the biggest sporting events in the world. I'm really excited to see how they do, and excited to post ITT with other gymnastics fans!

I know, TL;DR, but I'm really pumped!
