  • I know we have a good amount of Hockey fans here so here's our thread.

    Rangers will be very good with the addition of Nash and co. But the Rangers are always good on paper. I won't trust them until they prove otherwise.

    The Wild is another team to be reckoned with. Love the additions they made, especially ZP.

    Boston will be a tough out.

    St. Louis is my sleeper team that I believe can make some noise

    The Kings have to be the favorite in the West, especially with Quick standing on his head.

    Vancouver is just like the Rangers, tons of talent but can't win in the playoffs. Sneider should be starting with Louongo (sp?) as trade bait.

    The shortened season will help the Red Wings more than anyone, they won't be as good as we're accustom to seeing but they should at least make the postseason.

    Anyways, I'm ecstatic they got a deal done. Can't wait to see some Hockey!

  • Glad my Kings stood pat from the Stanley Cup roster. Re-signed Coach Sutter to a multi-year extension as well.

    Ironically, the lockout helped the Kings with Quick just coming back from back surgery. He's ready for Saturday afternoon against the 'Hawks.

    Who needs a goalie? I'm sure Bernier will be dangled like a carrot throughout the season.

    And I think the Kings are going to feel the Cup hangover more than usual with this lockout not helping alot...its their first cup..they don't know how to handle the hangover IMO..but they still will be the best in the west..off to a slow start though

    My wife is a Pens fan. Those back to back Cup finals against the Wings were fun in our house.

    Yeah this game is very intriguing. The Flyers are so Jekyll and Hyde but always fun to watch.

    The Pens need Sid to stay healthy but you can never count out Pitt.

    cheers Mountie, should be an exciting game.. Hate to do this to you but I have the Flyers winning 3-2 even though Pitt is the better team IMO.

    I'm a Wings fan so don't take this the wrong way, it's a nice streak and all but who cares. The last 3 years and now this year we won't be competing for cups, which is all that Wings fans should care about. Holland needs to decide to add some big pieces and reload or start restructuring this team. We're old as hell, our defense is going to hurt without Nick, and we lack an elite winger. Missing on Suter and Parise really sucks.

    Yeah, it's an arbitrary achievement but I've enjoyed 4 Stanley Cup championships and have grown accustomed to seeing the Wings in the playoffs.

    The shortened season does give the Wings an advantage with our aging players, though. And I agree we don't have elite wingers, but I'm interested to see if Brunner and Nyquist can be solid contributors. Also I'm hoping Filppula can finally have a break through season.

    Forza is the only reason I miss my XBOX. Forza is the best driving sim there is, IMO.
