Yea that's about the same time I got into hockey. My family went to the local junior team's game once and loved it, we got season tickets to that and I got big into the NHL. I think it was about '99-'00, the year or two before the Avs won the Cup.

Av's still have a lot of players injured... Like I've been saying, Av's have one of the fastest, youngest teams in the NHL and will be VERY good next season and then a contender in 2 years.. This team will grow and truly has some highly skilled young players and talent... This is going to be a FUN team to watch as they grow and one of the fastest, highest scoring teams in the league. Future is very bright.. Duchene is the fastest skater in the NHL and our 20 year old Captain is years ahead of his age.

Avs are just missing too many things, really.

they could spend a little bit of money if they were interested in winning, but we'll see

You guys still have goaltending issues?

Ehh, Bryz has been fairly good most nights, but when he's off he's just horrendous. The defense is the biggest problem though. Between injuries and age, the defense is pathetic.

It does kind of suck for Nashville, but at the same time they at least are in the Central time zone unlike Detroit and Columbus, so it's easier for their fans to watch road games than it is for Red Wings or Blue Jacket fans. Being a Blackhawks fan it sucks losing Detroit. At the same time they'll also get to have Minnesota in their division. Hopefully that rekindles a little bit of the rivalry they had with the North Stars back in the day.

I think Lavi will get a pass for this year. Holmgren will not have a problem firing him, but I don't think he wants to and will wait till next season to see how the team looks. It's very easy for GM's to over-rationalize a team's failures this season given the 2 week training camp, compact schedule and injuries being so magnified. If things start out rough next season though, they will pull the trigger almost immediately. All my opinion just from watching enough of Lavi and Holmgren. Holmgren loves making the big splash, but he's very calculated and knows Lavi has been a very good coach for this team overall.
