Why now it's kind of quiet when he starts talking about Congress's money.

They dont want their money taken.

Then how could you disagree on that it's not the same as every other State of the Union if you are only commenting on this one?

But Kitemac posted that this sounds like the "same type of State of the Union address from every other President," and you disagreed with that... Jesus, nevermind.

  • All of the stuff he is saying sounds good, just like it did years ago, but nothing good actually seemed to happen.

Hopefully that changes this time, because i dont think anyone else is beating him in the election. And i also dont have faith that someone else gets it done.

Their Best Interest. Its nice to stand up and clap on TV about Tax reform but when it comes time to cut that check they dont like it.

They're just a bunch of greedy people that aren't serving the people but serving their own pockets. This goes for Republicans and Democrats.

  • What if one of these parties were to run on the premise of "the government sucks", and in doing so sabotaged everything they could that the government was trying to do in order to give more power to corporations. Would they be successful?

That is what they do now. Sabotage the other party on any issue.

The speech will focus almost solely on the economy and Tax policy.

Obama is trying to jump on the recent news about Romney only paying 13.8% taxes on his $42? million dollar income last year.

A clear majority of Americans support removing the Bush tax cuts for the upper class, but since Congress takes donations primarily from the upper class, no one in Congress is interested in fixing the tax code.

Of course, if a job creator like Romney is forced to pay 20% on their capital gains, they would lose confidence in the economy and that would increase unemployment. At least that is how the right-wing media spins it.

Our tax policy is unbelievable stupid.

Its not a regressive or progressive tax system, but more of a "screw the middle class" tax policy.

This is going to be a very interesting election year.

how about a 10 % flat tax for every one (no IRS).
    * to regain lost Govt revenue not regained by the billions in additional spending by those that actually earned the money to begin with ....
    - pull out of Mid-East where we squander trillions "of tax dollars" quarterly
    - return the troops & put them on the border where we really need them.
    - cut govt spending (xcluding military home defense) including salaries,Presidential Country-club hopping, all Foreign-Aid, ect (Trillions) untill the budget is met .

simple really .... but untill people are willing to accept the fact that the entire tax system is a giant ponzie scheme to keep the rich ...rich its not going to happen.

"feed the ones in your kitchen then help feed others. dont take my food & make me starve to help those already with two well-stocked kitchens."

The thing that most ppl don't talk about is almost half of the country doesn't pay any income taxes at all. I personally would want no deductions, at all. No IRS like you've stated...the only difference is I would make the first $20,000 per year tax free. After that everything is a flat rate of some number that I'm not smart enough to figure out. People might call this wrong to give 20,000 tax free, but we do this now with deductions and returns etc. and it winds up being higher than $20,000 free in most cases. Simplify the system.
