Night one on NBC at 9 EST. Rooting for Michigan's own Jordyn Weiber to win. Also rooting for Alicia Sacramone's old bones to perform well on beam and vault and earn a spot on the Olympic team.

can they really take a girl that can only do 2 events? dont they need everyone doing everything to get the team title? i dont remember how that works.

No, at least three girls need to perform every event in the team competition, but you can have one or two specialists on the others.

ooo ok. so that girl has a chance then. I can't imagine blowing out your knee like that and then coming back and doing these types of landings. The odds of re-injuring has to be so high with these girls.

She fell flat on her back on a warmup tumbling pass on the floor three weeks ago at the US Championships. The broke a nasal bone, got a concussion and had to withdraw from the competition. Based on her performances in the world championships (gold medal) in 2011, she was given a spot in these trials.
