Gene Chizik gave Trooper a long leash and let him do whatever the hell he wanted. Trooper supplied Chizik with players so Chizik didn't care where he got them from or what he had to do to get them. Your fanbase was satisfied with this staff as long as they signed recruits that had stars next to their name. It didn't matter what happened once they arrived on campus or how many games they won the next years. Stars were the talkign points of the year and Trooper was Gene Chizks meal ticket. Without him, Chizik doesn't last three years.

Do I think Chizik is dumb enough not to see what Trooper was doing? Sure I do. I think he is one of the biggest morons to ever coach college football. But he had to of had a pretty good idea. He knew what Trooper was doing. He might not have known any of the specific details so he could cite plausible deniability, but nobody is dumb enough to not have a pretty good idea . We knew what Trooper was doing when he was at UT. Everyone in the country knew TT's reputation and what it meant when you added him to your staff. He's a crook who can't coach. Without shady recruiting practices, he's an assistant at a high school some where.

The bottom line is TT is bad for your program. He's a cancer that not only spreads to the players, but he brings in the NCAA to your doorstep every year. As a Bama fan, I want him to stay. I want him to hang you guys. I feel like you got away with murder during the Cam situation and have it coming. But if I was an AU fan, I'd want our guys to cut him a HUGE check to STFU and GTFO. I'd want him as far away from my players and program as I could get him. If he stays, you will be on probation in 2-3 years.....if not sooner. I want you to remember me saying this because I will be bumping it in the months to come when it happens. It's inevitable.

Go bring in Pertino, let him hire his own staff, and try and repair your image by presenting a new and improved Bobby Pertino to the media. A guy that is sorry for his actions and is willing to make amends. A guy that is a choir boy but isn't a Bible thumper. Then cross your fingers he doesn't act like he has everywhere else he has been. With a good, new coach on campus, the old staff gone, and the NCAA infractions behind you, you could eventually move forward and close a very rough chapter in AU football. But burying the bodies deeper in the closet instead of getting rid of them isn't going to work. It's time to make a change before it's too late. If you don't, you guys will be regretting it for the better part of a decade.

When your team resorts to being the highest bidder for a non professional athlete and wins the championship then falls apart after said athlete leaves. Makes me happy that auburn was mediocre without cam Newton and downright awful this year.
