  • How big of a meltdown would the Left Coast posters have if an undefeated Oregon was left out and undefeated Notre Dame and Alabama played in Miami?

  • ND and Oregon play two common opponents ... Stanford and USC. If both ND and Oregon finish the season undefeated, voters can rewatch those games and make a judgement as to whether ND or Oregon is the better team. The same is true for ND and KSU. Both have played Miami and Oklahoma. If both ND and KSU finish the season undefeated, voters can rewatch those games and make a judgement as to whether ND or KSU is the better team.

What you actually expect, these voters, to use common sense?

Left coasters? What makes you think USC fans care if Notre Dame gets in the NC over Oregon?

Plus, you don't find the same type of regional "SEC!SEC!SEC!" crap here on the west coast. I'm not rooting for Oregon to do well just because USC can't win a NC this year. Screw them and their horrible fans.

Tell that to some of the USC posters who constantly ruin threads with their bitching about bias and being left out.

No, you have it wrong. USC posters bitch about USC being left out, and then simply use other Pac-12 teams getting screwed as evidence that there is a bias.

If you can find me a post that shows a USC fan hoping Oregon wins a NC this year, I'd be surprised.

Do some people want Oregon to make the NC? Yeah, I could see that. It would be entertaining to see a spread offense go up against Bama. Notre Dame v. Bama would be a very defensive game overall and not as entertaining.

Why are you assuming that he wants Oregon to succeed? He fits into the category I described above, btw.

And if Notre Dame runs the table, including a win vs. USC... I think they honestly deserve to make the NC. That is a pretty damn good schedule that they would have to get through. Compare that to Oregon's joke of a schedule. Yes, yes...before Oregon fans comment, I know KSU backed out but that schedule would still have been bad.

  • IF......IF the voters use the common games as a reference, then Notre Dame would already be ahead of Kansas St.

If you say so. I've only watched one of the four games (ND v. OU).

    MrWoodson

  • ilovelamp51 said...

Meh. Having played both, I can say with complete confidence that KSU is better. In saying that, Oregon won't get in over any undefeated big time team (rightfully so) due to their joke of a schedule.

Miami is a 38 and 39 point difference between the 2, ND in Chicago and KSU at home.

OU was 17 points for ND and 5 for KSU, both at OU.

    Truth in score, IMO.

  • It would happen and there would be at least a minimeltdown on the west coast. The LA Times and some other west coast papers already bitch about things that don't add up in their minds in regards to the respect the Pac 12 gets or doesn't get. I hate to break to those poor ladies and gents but the simple fact is that the Pac 12 just isn't very good. Loads of potential out there but when the most visible and popular program out there shits the bed against Stanford and Arizona when loaded with expectations, it doesn't make for a good look. All Pac 12 fans and trumpeteers should be thanking and hoping their lucky stars that Oregon doesn't crap out. If they do then the respect they so intensely seek is gonna be even harder to come by in the near future. No room for error out there. Lose and your're done. USC fans know this all too well from the Carroll era.

If ND goes undefeated they will play in Miami the second week of January. The bigger meltdown would be if they were left out and I for one would love to see that. Would make up for all those bogus BCS and higher level bowl games they gotten in when they didn't deserve to be there.

I beg to differ. All I hear living on the west coast is how the PAC > SEC from top to bottom.

That is a completely different argument than what you stepped into.

My argument was that we don't root for other Pac-12 teams like the "SEC!SEC!SEC!" fans do. You're pointing out that Pac-12 fans are arguing the strength of the conference. These are two very different things.

Why does that make any sense? To any rational person, Pac-12 teams losing to other Pac-12 teams shouldn't weaken the conference as a whole. That's what the SEC relies on as well.

USC lost to Stanford and to Arizona, both are ranked.

This....A preseason #1 team imploding like USC looks to be doing is not helping the PAC-12's image with voters.

Again, I'm confused as to why it's "imploding" when USC loses to two ranked teams.

Especially when all of you were claiming we sucked this year anyway. Wouldn't we then just be on par with the expectations?

I can't speak for every Left Coast poster, but I don't care if Bama plays the Floats or ND. I have never liked the domers and I never will. The Floats are easily the worst fan base in the PAC. I hope they get left out of the MNC. I would rather see KState play Bama. The meltdown on the Float board and from the domers would be hilarious.

The PAC sucks after Oregon and USC.

Maybe just after Oregon if USC doesn't start playing like they can.

I know what you mean though, plenty of homers on my main board that think PAC>SEC. We aren't all that blinded though.
