Only 5 TCU players failed the test

  • I knew that the 60 and 82 numbers had to be exaggerated.

Marijuana was the only drug found; 86 players were clear.

I call bs on it being that low. That's good if true though.

  • IMO, this is increasingly looking like wasteful morality-policing. In this case, these are college kids and there were no hard drugs. And anyone with common sense knows that college football players don't typically have enough free time to be big-time drug dealers.

If people truly wanted to protect kids, we'd put the drug dealers and gangs out of business. We could make it like alcohol, which young people report the most difficulty buying, and only sell weed to people 21-and-over at stores.

Agree 100% anyone jumping on these kids is wasting time. It is amazing the cops were wasting resources to make a bust for $300. They hire undercover agents for that? You know what the insurance policies are for deep cover agents? To send them out for this is a joke. Agree on legalizing weed with age limit. Also you would put the Mexico drug lords out of biz to.

That number seems low for any college football team. Hell I bet you could pick 80 random kids from any school of a similar size as TCU and more than 5 would fail for pot.

I agree. I guess what is more frustrating than the actual story is the lack of journalistic integrity. If this is true and only 5 failed, then there needs to be a lot of people held accountable for false stories. That's why I said possibly in that thread I started.

  • There wasn't any previous bad journalism. They got the 60 and 82 numbers from the affidavits. Those were quotes from football players to undercover agents.

On the other note I agree completely that it's a huge waste of time to use undercover agents to check up on small time college pot dealers. The transactions were almost all less than an ounce.

That's what I'm saying. $200 for an ounce of regs? You better slap your man next time you see him for those prices.

Did you guys see where the cops tried to get meds from Brock and he said, he knows some chick in the dorms who can help out with that? i mean come on! This isn't a freaking drug ring. It was someone helping someone out find the party. If they were really dealing drugs it would be in the lbs not ounce by ounce. You can blow through that in a weekend easily, and that's one person. Joke! non-story. They fact Brock is on 10K bond is sickening.

    Is he black?

If so then that's Texas for you, minus Austin.

Got pulled over North of Waco and they searched the car. Trooper told me afterwards sorry for taking so long, but when we saw the black guy, it raised suspicion. Idiots never looked in mine or my girlfriend at the time's pockets though.

Unfortunately, I doubt it. From what I've read, the various Mexican cartels are anticipating the US legalizing, and have started manufacturing and pushing methamphetamine.

Simply put, we didn't legalize fast enough. It's sad, thousands of people die around the world from violence related to drug trafficking every year.

If we had legalized in 2008, it would have helped mitigated some of the economic downturn. Marijuana is both a resilient and versatile crop. Our nation could have been at the forefront of hemp production and related industries; instead, people clung onto silly stereotypes and resisted legalization.

  • I have several close friends that just got out of TCU. For those of you saying this isn't a big deal, you're wrong. Drug use is rampant at TCU. Having seen the social life at several Texas colleges, I can say TCU is by far the worse. I'm not talking weed, I'm talking heavy cocaine, ecstasy, prescription drug use. They have a big problem going on over there, hopefully this will open some eyes.

They have also had something like 6 suicides in the past 3 years. Also, I've read that they are soon going to issue dozens more warrants for students that were using during this whole investigation.
