  • why would the committee be scared to choose them? I'm pretty sure they care nothing about conference pride and only care about money...which is why they won't choose a school from Oregon to come there.

Any proof of Oregon fans saying this or are you just making things up?

    hillbillyzombie

  • My guess would be making it up.

I think anyone with half a brain knows that they are going to lose out on a lot of fans traveling if they half to go across the whole damn country to get there. I would still think that they will go to a BCS game. I'm not so sure that they wouldn't take Oregon anyway. I'm not sure how the order of picking the teams are this year for the Orange, Fiesta and Sugar outside of their affiliated conferences, but you would have to think all three would choose Oregon over Kent State if given the opportunity. At least assuming that Kent State beats Northern Illinois.

With the Sugar Bowl being aligned with the SEC, I'm sure they would.

I'm not so sure the Sugar Bowl wouldn't take UF over whomever loses in the SEC championship game honestly. UGA didn't go after losing to LSU in the SECCG last year. They will take the highest ranked SEC team in the BCS rankings.

^^^This. Oregon fans haven't said anything about the SEC being scared. The OP is just trolling. Like you, I've seen nothing, but Oregon fans wanting an Oregon/Florida matchup because it would be a great game and it would be a #3 vs a #4 team(after one of Bama or UG loses). But like above posters have said it wouldn't work for travelling Oregon fans, but it would definitely get the second highest amount of TV viewers behind the Natty.

The Fiesta commitee has first choice so they will most likely choose Oregon. Expect an Oregon vs KSU Fiesta Bowl which will be a good game too, but a UF/UO game would be better and one I know I would personally want. Who kTgnows? Maybe KSU loses to UT and it will be Oklahoma in the Fiesta. Maybe for some reason some A&M or LSU is chosen to play in the Fiesta and then the Ducks will go to the Sugar. The OP is an idiot!!!

Lol. Typical SC fan. Great season bud. Your 75< everyone elses 85. "But, but, but at least the Trojans have the #1 recruiting class." Too bad LK will flush their college careers down the drain. "But, but, but we have tradition and we'll get them to the NFL." Too bad Matt Barkley went ftom possibly being the #1 pick to dropping, dropping, dropping. I bet he wishes he would've left last season.

How about TJ McDonald? Once a first round pick to now a rd 2-3 pick probably. Khaleel Holmes. Another projected first rounder dropping to the third round or so. Who else? Silas Redd. Poor guy left Penn St for nothing. Was sold on a lie. Robert Woods. Top 10-15 pick dropping to the 2nd round most likely. Looks like the NFL pitch is as not as glorified as thought.

Sure they'll make it to the NFL, but it will be a couple rounds lower then expected. Hopefully kids like Falah, Vanderdoes and McQuay see through Lanes BS and make the smart decision. Lol....SC fan straight jealous of Oregon and living vicariously through the SEC's success and trying to gain allies against Oregon. You've been exposed my fine, Trojan friend.

  • Keep on Ducking. How worried are you about Chip Kelly leaving for the NFL? I've heard it's all but a foregone conclusion that he is going to make the leap from guys like Mortenson and (name leaves me) but the squirrely guy that's an NFL insider. Supposedly, your OC is all but going to take his place, but I don't know much about your OC.

good topic here Aussie. i thought a Bowl losing its #1 conference affiliated team to the BCS got 1st dibs.shrug

    --Team selection procedures --
**If a bowl loses a host team to the NCG, then such bowl shall select a replacement team from among the automatic-qualifying teams and the at-large teams before any other selections are made.the bowl losing the No. 1 team gets the first choice.
--A bowl choosing a replacement team may not select any of the following--
    A) A team in the NCG;
    B) The host team for another BCS Bowl

    with that said...
Oregon has lost in back to back seasons to the SEC,furthermore they have a home stadium capacity of a mere 60,000 for a reason.

    Crimson_Ghost

  • Any Oregon fan with two functioning neurons to rub together wanted K-State in the NC. Only because it would have been the closest thing to a gimme glass football.

Fiesta, not so much. At this point really the only thing that will wash away the taste of the shit sando this season has become would be beating an SEC team in a bowl game. That said, considering Oregon lost to the only team they faced this season with an SEC-esque defense I'm starting to warm up to the KSU match up again.

I think that is correct. The Sugar will have first pic since the SEC champ is going to the NC.

That said they will probably take a SEC team to replace them. In this case being Florida. Even if they did choose Oregon it is doutbful that they could get Florida with their second pick.

As I posted in a different thread last night there is still a scenario where Oregon and Florida could match up in the Fiesta Bowl but that would require a lot of variables falling into place.

    $$$ and he's a competitive SOB.

He also won't bring his system to the NFL. He'd certainly sprinkle in components, but no way he'd try to run a full spread option or a snap-every-eight-seconds offense.
