Yes, I think the novelty aspect is over. Oregon has really been a trend setter in terms of uni looks and "technology" and it really has become part of their image so good for them. At the end of the day though, it won't make them better players or more capable of winning. As the link states, this integrated uniform system was debuted at last year's NC game. System? Really? Damn.
Players still get injured, coaches still coach the same, and Oregon's uniforms have zero impact on the other team. At this point I see it's biggest benefit is in the oohs and ahs on the recruiting trail. This kind of marketing should bring a wary eye from the NCAA.

And as that continues to grow they will keep getting better and better athletes. It is an advantage in that aspect.

IIRC, Oregon had the same problem again this year for one of their games. It might have been the Stanford game, but I don't remember for certain.
