Oregon-USC & Bama-LSU

  • It was just announced that Bama-LSU will be playing @ 7:00 on November 3rd. That same day Oregon and USC will more than likely be playing a prime time game. Is there any other Saturday that has 2 games as big as these 2?

    Not neccessarily. ESPN-ABC will probably go primetime for the western USA as more viewers in the west will be interested in the match up. Maybe a 5:30 kick-off which would leave the second half open to the east coast viewer watching after the LSU-'Bama snoozefest is over.

    USC and Oregon will wake them up.

    I understand your POV and the style of football you enjoy but to me I'd rather watch a battle of defenses. Even if it is low scoring. I'm the same in baseball. I'd rather watch a good pitchers duel then see a slugfest between two teams.

    The bowl game between Baylor and Washington made me cringe from the piss poor tackling. Again, I understand that you'd rather watch a shootout but I find defensive games much more exciting

    Right. There's a reason why 2006 SC-Texas was the most viewed MNC during the BCS era.

    It was the lowest ever because it was a blowout in the second quarter. That game featured two heisman qb's and Adrian Peterson/Reggie Bush. Plus two top five programs of all-time undefeated. Ratings would've been through the roof if it wasn't over in the first half.
