Oregon's offense is just another version

  • wishbone triple option that GT/Navy run. They just do it all out of shotgun and go hurry up instead of slow it down. Maybe they need to learn from the wishbone teams how to slow the pace down and control the clock and they can have an elite defense.

They will never be good defensively with the lopsided T.O.P. they have

I don't think they worry about leading the nation in defense.

They should be, you won't win the big one without a defense. If they would just run the same offense and slow the pace down some, that defense looks completely different

That's all they want is a defense that is good enough. For them, winning 60-50 is a defense that is good enough. Their theory had them play in a MNC game 2 seasons ago.

If all they want to do is play in one, that is ok. You won't beat the top SEC teams without a good defense. Not just the SEC, but any of the top teams in the country. Everyone in the top 5 has way better defenses than Oregon could ever dream of.

Put the crack pipe down man. About four of their best defensive players are out right now. And it's not their players it's their scheme that coughs up the yards. They fricking blitz on every other play. Their D didn't cost them against LSU or Aub. Was their weak O line.

Their defense sucks every year, it doesn't matter who is in or out.

They've got 4-5 3rd stringers in the game right now.

I think what we do is working just fine for us..

We were a last minute field goal away from the big one so I don't see why people keep saying we have no chance to win it, considering we are better than we were then.

Compared to the top teams they will be playin in the MNC game.

Their philosophy works well for the regular season, they won't beat a team in the MNC with this defense. When you get in the big games with good defenses, you are going to get stopped offensively a lot more than you are used to. So if your defense can't stop anyone, you are screwed. Pretty obvious when you look at ORegon's record vs the good defenses

Seems to be a constant excuse for Oregon, everybody has injuries

Oregon looks small and soft iyam, just calling it like I see it

A real defense would own this team

Jesus. First off, their offense has thumped plenty of 'good' defenses. Given that the only other team you've probably ever seen play in the PAC is SC... Oregon beat them when SC had "SEC" defenses. And really? KSU has a better defense than Oregon? It's not even possible.

Regardless, look at Oregon's defensive stats in the Aub and Corndog games and tell me they lost because of their defense. You can't. They lost because their O line was 100% pussy.

    And your RB's, QB's and WR's

Which they still are, they are all small and just waiting for a good hit to put them out for a series

Oregon is a weak team no matter how you slice it

Never heard the injury excuse until I just used it but that they play soft cannot be denied. If they had FSU's D Cal would be looking at a doughnut.

But you think it will matter if they play KSU for the title?

Thomas was like 25-3 as a starter and he still sucked

    brem22

  • Facing less plays in a game doesn't make a defense better. It just lets you hide your defensive problems. When you judge their defense by yards per play Oregon looks much better on defense. So far this year Oregon is just behind Georgia in ypp, 5.0 - 4.8

Because the nerves of playing in the national championship got to Cam and he had his worst game. Had nothing to do with Oregon's defense. Had two receivers wide open for touchdowns and Cam threw one pass too long and the other pass too short. Auburn also settled for a field goal at the end of the game because that is all they needed to win. They probably could have scored a touchdown if they needed or wanted too. If I remember correctly, Auburn also had over 500 yards total offense in that game
