I think it is just an impulse move. Every team, no matter who they are, are not guaranteed to be great forever. Honestly, the last couple of years, Arkansas and Auburn have gotten the short end of the stick by having South Carolina and UGA.
When we had 2 permanent teams, Florida had Aurbun and LSU. At the time, when Auburn stopped being one of their permanent teams, it looked like they got the better deal. That, of course, has since changed.
This year, UGA has a soft conference schedule and it may not be fair to South Carolina, but they will then have to face Alabama or LSU more than likely and if they can win that game, then it is deserved.
South Carolina wants to point how unfair it was last year, and maybe it slightly was, but at the same time, all they had to do was beat Auburn, at team UGA almost beat by 40 and they would have gone back to Atlanta.

Favoritism would be letting Alabama play Kentucky, LSU play Vanderbilt, Auburn play Missouri, Florida play Ole Miss, Tennessee play Mississippi St, and UGA play Texas A&M every year.
The fact is, that the Big 6 plays another Big 6 team every year.
I admit that it doesn't seem fair that UGA got the schedule that they did, but I don't think it was done to benefit them or hurt South Carolina. Like I said, it was done to let Missouri play Alabama in their first year in the conference.

funny when you first started whining, it was UGA making the schedule and we were shady, now you learn that the SEC makes the schedules, they are shady, next the NCAA and then the BCS and then the NFL are being mean to you?
Alabama had themselves taken off UGA's schedule to ensure Richt would get to stay around, IMO.
