  • Not really a start when the same members are sitting on the BOT that allowed this to go on. Their job was to provide oversight to Spanier and co. They failed miserably, and the fact they haven't resigned is a disgrace.

    And each member has said that he or she will not be stepping down. Hoping the DOE says "get the eff out"

  • We're seriously in a different era. Thirty years ago if something like this happened, everyone would have resigned in disgrace. These days, you have to pry these people from their jobs while they hold on with every fiber in their being.

    The newest member called for joe to be named head coach emeritus posthumously, and recommended a public apology from the board to the paterno family, and emphasized this had nothing to do with penn state.

    So at least this is a start for what?

    It is a start to admitting responsibility in all this.........was not sure the BOT would admit failure.

    I am not saying by any means that this is anywhere near a consequence for the wrong doings - I am pretty sure in Hell right now David Koresh is telling Joe "You wrote the book on people following you blindly......"

    The member you are talking about, Anthony Lubrano, is a complete loon, IMO. His claim to fame is donating money to get our baseball field named after him. He has been adamant that there is a conspiracy against Paterno the whole time. It's a bit ridiculous... and really I didn't expect him to change his tune now.

    And as much as I think the BOT needs to go with exception to the three new members just voted in (which unfortunately includes Lubrano), even they are smart enough not to give that idiot the time of day.
