PSU to accept sanctions

  • Guess the lawsuit idea wasn't so good after all

Penn State Nittany Lions -- Sources -- Penn State expected to ratify sanctions - ESPN

The Penn State University board of trustees will hold a special meeting Sunday and is expected to formally ratify the consent decree of sanctions agreed to last month by university president Rodney Erickson and the NCAA, Outside the Lines has learned.

  • We probably easily could have gotten the NCAA to have to do a formal investigation, but then they just do an investigation and hand down the same sanctions. It would kind of be pointless.

How did they get the Paterno family to agree to this?

  • I almost wish they had kept the lawsuit so that the NCAA would do a formal investigation and give them a 4 year death penalty.

Me too, I'd love the death penalty. We deserve it after having such a terrible culture where football was put above academics.

  • Who really thought it would turn out any different? Those idiots were just blowing smoke so they could pacify the PSU fan base. Would have been too funny for them to see this through and then get the death penalty.

? You mean above childrens safety from a freak who molested them? And they just threw all of this aside like it never happend because they had a Rep to protect and they didn't wanna be known as PEDO U.... It would have hurt ther recruiting and other things as far as the program goes..

How is anyone supposed to believe PSU's graduation numbers.

I mean, really. The leaders of your insitution covered-up child rape. Is it beyond the realm of possibility that they were overlooking academic indiscretions to keep the graduation numbers looking pristine?

Of course they were. We were paying players as well and all of our guys are on steroids.

Listen. When you are covering-up the rape of children, you completely lose the benefit of the doubt.

If that is the case then your players are not taking them right. They are not very good at football.

I agree with you so MUCH!!!! Really if you think about it if they covered something up like this what makes people think they didn't cover up other things? I mean really think about it what maked people think they didn't cover up things that Ohio State, Alabama, LSU and other programs turned themselves in for?
I look at Penn State as one of the most hypocritical organazations of any kind ever. Not just sports. At least in my 28 years on this Earth.

What about USC? Alabama? And other teams that got probation cause of a few people? Makes no sense to me IMO..

Wait a min... so that diploma they got was a farce? Okay, fantastic.

Again, are we to believe that overlooking academic indiscretions of football players is out of the question when the leaders of Penn State were covering-up the rape of children?

  • Not out of the question at all. In fact I'd be more inclined to believe it now that its obvious joepa would do anything to make his program appeal to parents.

I also find it interesting that you've swapped out your 409 badge for the LB-U badge. Instead of honoring the man who covered up child rape you are now honoring the guy who actually did the child raping. Seeing as Sandusky coached linebackers at Penn State for almost 30 years.

The players made LBU, not Sandusky. If it ended with him we wouldn't have guys like Poz, Conner, Lee, Bowman, Mauti, Hodges...

That's like saying that we are supporting slavery because the founders of our nation were slave owners.

    Idiot.

I was going to point that out on the psu boards but knew i'd be banned for trying to put forth a logical argument on the internet
