    Clowney would be the #1 pick this year as a soph. And will definitely be #1 next year.

    Who is to say he can't get his money? If you are worth it, you should be able to get paid.

    No way that would happen. I'm not a USCe fan by any means, but I did just move from Columbia after living there for two years and have a lot of respect for Spurrier and his program; and that includes Clowney. If a player was such a douche as to sit out the season to avoid injury for his own personal gain and to basically screw his team like that, I wouldn't draft his selfish ass either.

    Not saying Clowney would do that, because he wouldn't. Met him and talked to him for a few minutes and he's actually a really enjoyable person.

    Bottom line is that if there was a player that would do that to his team, he would be a complete dildo.

    Because some people actually respect the thought of going to get an education like these guys are suppose to be doing at college. We all know Jadeveon is a future star in the league, but some of these clowns think they are going to be all world and then go bust in the NFL without an education.

    #1 Wilbon hates college football so his answer doesn't surprise me.

    #2 Think it would help push toward getting the three year rule removed if he did sit out. It is in place to keep teams from selecting players before they are ready and they wind up being busts. But yet we still have plenty of busts anyway. If a team wants to draft a guy who is one year removed, two years removed or fresh out of high school, let them. If the player busts then it's the team's fault for drafting him. Putting a one size fits all time frame on when a player will be ready for the league is not the way to do it. Clowney is ready now and we all know it.

    If the NFL hasn't wisened up and made a limit on rookie contracts this would be a Serious serious debate. It could be an 80 or 100 million dollar decision if it weren't for the new rules.

    If he sits he garentees himself money. What If he tears his Achilles? shrug

    From a business decision, it'd be dumb not to play, it might turn some teams off but there is no way someone wouldn't trade up to get him. He is Julius Peppers, and possibly a more explosive version.

    The NFL age limit is so ridiculous. This kid would have been a top pick 2 years ago.

    Education is a back up plan. It's for those who aren't in the position Clowney is in. He could literally sit out this year, collect his contract, play for 5 years and retire happily with enough money to live happily. Even if he gets hurt he'd have enough.

    Education past high school isn't part of the law. Get over it. You are obviously jealous if this kid of something. I agree that your statements are th perfect fit for 99.9 percent of student athletes. Not with the big time prospects though. A man should have the right to make a living using his skills. They don't hold Justin Beiber off the radio until he turn 21... What's so different about a football player?

    The age limit ruined college basketball and did nothing good for the NBA, for every Kobe there is around 20 guys that are broke and out of the league by 23-24 years old

    If they allowed kids to enter the NFL out of high school it would be the end of football in this country, cause one of the poor kids would get hurt so badly that all hell would break loose in terms of player safety

    You also need to google " Guarantee " and practice spelling it he right way, that way you could at least disguise the fact you are a total moron

    To me, a man with a talent shouldn't be held back because other kids in the classroom aren't as smart as him. That's why they have advanced classes.

    That's just me.

    I understand both sides and am not saying going to college doesn't benefit the large majority. I believe a kid talented enough to play with the big boys should be able to make a living playing with the big boys.

    Even If the kid is a bust, he certainly will have money after a year or two in the league to pay for a college education if he really wants one. (provided he isn't financially irresponsible)

    Those players being broke is usually due to irresponsible financial decisions.

    Please read what I write. I stated I believe going to college is good for the majority but its not right to hold a supreme talent back for that reason.

    Gotta disagree. The one and done's are ruining college hoops and for football to follow the same blueprint would be a huge mistake.

  • Clowney is the rare exception of a kid who could jump to the NFL after 2 years - some of you are crazy to suggest changing the 3- yr rule. NFL is a man's game - most 2-yr players would get destroyed coming out that early.
