Papa Johns laying off workers and reducing hours.

It's his company and his decision not to offer healthcare to his employees. If he wants to downsize so he doesn't have to comply, that is his business...

You can order a pizza from this guy or you can order a pizza from one of the thousands of small businesses with less than 50 employees that DO offer health benefits to their employees even when they don't have to.

    Guess which pie tastes better.

Definately the local pie joints. You wouldn't catch me ordering from papa johns/pizza hut etc unless my life depended on it. Pizza palace, pizza oven Itallos and the smaller places of which you speak offer the best product and usually at a more reasonable price. Plus there broasted chicken and jojos puts chain chicken to bed

I might have made a racist remark that night, but it is because that guy made some racist remarks to me a few days before.

No. I believe in this country and where we are going.

What's happening now is that employers refuse to pay their employees health care.

Read the Forbes study on Papa Johns. It's affordable. The CEO is more concerned about making a polotical statement than caring for his employees.

if you actually believe this you are pretty dumb.

So, if someone makes racist remarks, that justifies any subsequent racism on your part? Nobody should just be the better man and avoid the racism altogether?

Exactly Obamacare is going to go badly and naturally the solution the Democrats will propose will be single payor. But by the time we get to that point the government won't be able to afford single payor, so don't count on it happening.

Do you have any evidence for why it will go badly? Can you walk me through the provisions in the bill that will lead to negative occurrences?

That's not an answer. Show me what part of the ACA will directly cause a loss of jobs. Show me that you understand the ACA.

People being laid off. Hours being cut. Company is already preparing for It. I don't have to explain that ACA. I've read it. You read it.

Nope. You are on the right direction though. Too broad.

Overbroad accusations with no evidentiary support aren't worth a thing. If you're going to make assertions, you should be able to support them.

Hell, at this point I could say something like "Mr. Stache is still incredibly butthurt about the election." However, absent any sort of proof or evidence to support what I'm saying, I'm clearly just talking out my rear end.

    Here's a tip about arguing:

When you make an assertion, you back it up.

Considering I've never said that the constitution mandates healthcare for everyone, I don't have to find support for that statement. However, since Mr. Stache is saying that the ACA is terrible and will cause many negative consequences, he should back that up with some support.

No. More susceptible to shocks to their margins, which is exactly what certain parts of the law stipulates.

Now where some ITT are being hyperbolic is the overall effect.

Most of these chains don't have many workers over thirty hours and if they are, they already are full-time usually managers who probably have benefits anyways.

So you have some workers going from 34-35 hours to 28. Now that's bad from an individual standpoint. They are going to need to find another job probably and---this will make the cons go nuts--will probably qualify for Medicaid anyways. So why the penalty? To raise revenue or force compensation. I've already stated that I despise the burdening of healthcare coverage on employers, but this loss isn't a massive job killer. You get slight hourly reductions in low-wage jobs, but a big increase in medium-skill, good paying jobs in the healthcare sector overall.

If you're not smart enough to read it, figure out how businesses are hurt by it then it can't be explained to you. Hint: I've read your posts. You aren't.
