Pastor wants concentration camps for gays & death by starvation

The Christian faith is about tolerance and love first and foremost. Every real Chirstian will tell you that.

I would agree, but the definition of "tolerance" has shifted. It no longer means "Hey, you have different beliefs than I do, but I'm not going to give you a hard time about any of it." Now it means that you must accept others' viewpoints to be just as true as your own. To disagree with someone's views or say that they're (gasp) "wrong" is now intolerant and hateful.

"Quit trying to make a play and do your job!"

  • 1. People who say these types of things are usually trying to promote themselves over their faith. Remember the guy who wanted to burn the Koran in Florida? Yeah, this guy falls into that category.

    2. Religion always fails man and is full of fallacies. The one constant is Christ's love for all of us: including the gay and lesbian people and this erroneous "pastor".

    3. Any group, including atheists and any other group, have extremists who use their platform to promote their own personal agenda over the premise of their group. This "pastor" is no different. Christianity does not hate other groups. Christianity is based on Christ and His teachings. Some people take Christianity and make it fit their own agenda. I truly feel sorry for those ignorant people.

    4. Just because someone calls himself a "pastor" does not mean he is a pastor.

In one thread, posters don't want Christians judging others. Then a thread where they thin Christians should judge others. It's confusing.

You know how liberals are, Stache. They aren't closed minded, don't judge and never, EVER stereotype...unless they disagree with you.

All Christians think like this. In fact most religions are built around hate.

I know you are trolling, but "all christians think like this..." is probably one of the dumbest things you have ever typed.

I agree with 97% of this, great post.

This guy is obviously not a Christian. It's like when a black guy has 20 babies out of wedlock and won't work for a living. I mean the blacks in America have some PR issues but are you really going to pin THAT guy on 'em. Nah.

  • The OP is a great example of why the vetting for preachers should be stricter than it is in some circles. What an unBiblical sermon and an embarassment even if he doesn't represent the overwhelming majority of pastors.

He's just as bad as Dan Savage, IMO.

Yeah, if there is any Church government oversight of that church he should be shut down immediately. Sadly that whole building is probably full of folks that agree. Like I said, his other sermons likely aren't very different. I mean if you attended a gospel preaching church for a few years and then that came out, you'd jog out the door and not return. Those people are used to that.

Christianity is against this message, what forum or megaphone would you like to hear it be declared from? Christianity doesn't exactly have a tv station you'd be watching or anything. Not like Al Jazeera.

Al Jazeera English is a news channel and it reports news and doesn't have an agenda to promote unlike Fox News and MSNBC, so if you're implying that it represents the religion of Islam, it doesn't

Do Atheists speak out every time one of their flock say something embarrassing or do we hold Christians to a different level of accountability?

    A couple of things here.

If there are atheists out there saying stuff like this, you should point them out.

If someone is claiming to be Christian, and then using that label to make idiotic statements like the preacher in the video, then its up to other Christians to explain how they are wrong, and why this does not represent their views.

Or, just maybe, it would be up to the non-judgemental, open minded people who are judging and stereotyping the Christians to show why that guy should be assumed to represent the group as a whole. I mean, after all, if you're going to make a rare exception to your ideology and judge an entire group by the actions of a few, it would follow that you'd have a good reason for doing so.
