I actually think this is stupid. Look, you cannot clean the stench from this by ignoring 60 years of history at the school. Paterno is part of Penn State, the good and the bad. Taking the statue down seems just idiotic. Yes, Paterno failed miserably, but he is still part of Penn State, like it or not.

I agree- the person should be at least retired. This is what you get.

Do I agree with it? I'm gonna say no. Paterno IS Penn State. He made a bad choice by not going to the police, but he did take it to the president of the university whom oversees security. Now, I believe he should have been fired, but don't act like you are throwing away 60 years of history because of a "guilty by association" ordeal.

Agreed. Joe should be held accountable but seems like Penn State has a whole wants to throw all accountable on 3 or 4 guys cause they believe it's a good PR stunt. Good or bad, JoePa was Penn State. They just need to apologize, fire everyone who had the slightest responsibilities and pay whatever the court says to pay to the victims. What's been done cannot be taken back. Just suck it up, all of it, and move forward.

I've found nothing, anywhere to back this up. Believe me, there is a lot of crap being thrown at the wall right now involving this situation.

Yeah. I mean it's not like Paterno went 5-12 in bowl games or anything. Sheesh.

There'd be a bigger occupancy than Wall Street of this were to happen and it leaked ahead of time. After seeing people hugging his statue, they'd be chaining themselves to it if it was being removed.
