It was worse. I have no doubts it was a td.

tough call coulda went ether way but once called no matter if they woulda said TD or not there was no way to over rule it, in the end Nebraska put up 32 points. even that TD wouldnt have made 32. Great Game tho. Penn St was a great team, very impressed with how much better McGloin was, and the back is a beast too... Amos is a hardass hitter also.

I don't think you realize how football works. Do you understand that if PSU had gotten that TD...Nebraska wouldn't have seen those same situations they saw otherwise? Now Nebraska very well might have still won...but it would have been 30-27 with a kickoff coming and Nebraska needing to drive the field rather than just run time off.

And no, there's no "coulda went either way." He had control for several moments after the ball crossed the line. This is not one of those "not enough evidence" calls. It was completely wrong. Completely.

  • I'm just going to say what so many Michigan posters encouraged the MSU posters to do last week: you just have to play over it and overcome those calls. If psi was good enough, that call doesn't matter.

It was sound advice last week, it has to be this week. Time to move on. Another game is coming up next week.

review is too blurry man, way to hard to overrule. tough to explain when We're both homers of each school but if you look at it. Its way to blury to see if the ball is moving or not when the reply is stopped. Might have been easier if the player wasnt wearing gloves because the gloves just make a big black blurry area. you cant go back against the call. Id tell you the samething if they would have called a TD there too.

    Here you go

    Play

Unbelievable Football Referee Call - NOT a...

http://www.HuskerSpot.com Nebraska Cornhuskers vs Penn State Nittany Lions in 1982. This play was amazingly ruled a catch. The referees must still be hungover from last night's party because this guy's feet were definitely out of bounds when he caught the football. The Huskers ended up going 12-1 in the 1982 season. The three point loss to Penn St. was their only loss of the season. The University of Nebraska football team also repeated as Big Eight champs. http://www.HuskerAuctions.com

  • Well we got the game stolen from us last week so at least UM gets one taken from them that they needed so bad.

Yes I am resorting to that...

Good picture. Ball is clearly coming out of his hands already at that point.

  • I'd be mad if I were PSU also. But if it were called a TD originally it wouldn't have been overturned. 90% of the time a play that close stands as called

  • I believe the review call was the right one. but was the live call right? im not so sure. it is just one of those calls that either way it is called originally TD or not it would not have been overturned either way. thats just what happened.

Ball is clearly on it's way out. Ref who called it was on the opposite side of the picture. Where it might appear he has one hand on the ball (the other is obviously off) he probably doesn't have the other hand on it. It was a good call. Another game is next week.

exactly what i was saying. they cant overcall it because the evidence wasnt INDISPUTABLE. dont know why im getting so many DV. i said it coulda went ether way, but stated why i believed it was right in the end.

Yeah...but that is because it was the right call. I know what point you're trying to make, but this was not an instance of lacking evidence (like when a QB sneaks it in). It's very clear that the ball is most of the way over the plane by the time it is knocked out.

It's a close play in PSU/NEB but if it was me I would've reversed it to a touchdown. Seems to have control when the ball broke the plane.
