  • Get this...No holding calls today on Nebraska's 57 runs (though I saw at least 7 blatant tackles or jersey pull downs right in the middle of the play the refs could not have missed it)...

    Also get this (attributed to jack66 on Scout):
    "Here is what is even crazier. The last offensive holding call against a Big 10 opponent was in the 3rd quarter of the NW game.

    17 straight quarters without a holding call. That is not blindness, it is willfull ignorance."

    Get this. Your entire right side of the line was holding Eric Martin basically all game. Not one holding call. You guys obviously didn't make enough adjustments in the 2nd half to win. Stop bitching about the fumble. The call wasn't clear enough to overturn no matter how butthurt you wanna get over this.

    Good effort for sure, and y'all are a solid team, but you can not tell me that it was not a TD. With that call going the way it should have, that game completely changes. Absurd to say it any other way. The ball presumably wouldn't have been in the shadow of the our own goalline, so the safety doesn't happen. Y'all have to march down the field and score with the momentum in PSU's favor.

    Completely different game.

    Penn State finished with 391 yards of total offense. So the offense racked up 250 in the first half, and about 140 in the second. Excluding the touchdown/goal line/fumble call, here are Penn State's second half drive results:

    Interception
    Field Goal
    Punt
    Safety
    Downs
    End of Game

    On the other hand, Nebraska got 245 in the second half -- including three drives over 70 yards (two touchdowns and a RZ fumble).

    In my opinion, this was a game that pitted a first half team (PSU) against a second half team (Nebraska). Blaming the outcome on one call just doesn't sit right with me.
