Unfortunately, the people responsible covered up a serious crime. Something has to be done. It just is. There is pretty much no way to justify it, by the type of crime.
Ultimate...life is hard and seldom fair. It just is.

Right now, we have the evidence of victims who are claiming they were in a sex ring, partially based on Sanduskys actions. Those are the facts right now. That is what I am talking about. If I misspoke about that before, I apologize. But that is what I am referencing. It is currently still an open investigation.

They are. But the point is, there are more victims who are coming forward. And hesitantly/understandably so. This is not an easy subject. Even what we know, right now, do you really think they were the only ones? Yes, I am speculating. However, history repeats itself on these kinds of situations. When someone commits this type of crime, it is not their first time. They became good at it. We are finding this out now, through investigation, and suspicious "cover-ups." There are people whom are being rightfully punished by the court system. However, there are some that have already are some (passed-on and living) that are being brought into allegations. This is a very complicated, and diverse crime. Most people see this as a very bad cover up. Of course, not quite proven, but in some ways yes. It is easy to see how this is continuing, but more people coming forward and naming names, and listing details. I have an issue of PSU fans, and anyone, kind of brushing this off. And it does appear that PSU fans are trying to brush it off. This is what the rest of the public is very pissed about. Hence why some people have a chip on their shoulders about this stuff.

I still don't see why you think we should have been punished by the NCAA though? This was a terrible crime and I am 100% for everyone who was involved being punished and that is happening through the judicial system. The NCAA decided to punish the school too when 99.99% of the people associated with the school did nothing wrong.

Whom can you trust? How far can you go? This was a football coach, who still used all the faculties, who knew what kind of influence he had. Was it unfair? YES. Is it justified? YES. Too much shit happened to innocent children that was proven to be covered up for YEARS. We do not know that 100% of the people are being punished right now. That is part of the issue. It wasn't realized how bad it was, and then was discovered to be been covered up by some high up people, including the football program.
You cannot say 99.9% of the people in this are clean. No one at first thought such a big person of the school/role model could do this. That is the point in it. It is crap, that they current program suffers. I do not disagree. But, sometimes you just have to clean house and throw everyone under.

So from my standpoint, the stats are probably indicative of the actual performances. Shazier definitely outshined both Mauti and Hodges in the head to head matchup and at this point in time is a better playmaker than both of them. No disrespect to Mauti and Hodges. They're great. Shazier is better. I agree with Devidee.

OSU won, but did you realize Mauti had 13 tackles to Shazier's 7?
Shazier isn't better. He led the nation in whiffed tackles. He wasn't consistent throughout the season and he didn't possess any leadership qualities.
Shazier's pick six was something my 10-year old son could have made. Please don't make that out to be an outstanding play that he made. McGloin threw it right to him.
Devidee is an idiot when it comes to these things. He would think Braxton Miller is better than RG3.

On the season, Ryan Shazier had 21 more solo tackles than Mauti.
Ryan Shazier had 17 TFLs and 5 sacks. Coaches' 1st teamers Michael Mauti and Max Bullough combined for 16 TFLs and 5 sacks

Why was it necessary? Serious question. The point of punishment is to prevent what happened from happening again. You really think the number one thing on spanier Curley and Schultz' mind right now is the sanctions? No they are worried about court, which they should be. Any # of these (1 or all 4) can be present as a means for punishment.
The sanctions apply to #'s 1, 2 & 3. So yes, the sanctions were needed and necessary.
