Penn State wants to leave the B1G

    I'll make this simple. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, DC, NYC. That is why PSU is so attractive.

    And quick, tell me who has the most Big Ten championships since PSU joined the Big Ten? Tell me who has the most National Championships since that same time. Tell me who won the most National Championships in the nation since 2007. Tell me who won the last Natty for the Big Ten.

    Like it or not, PSU has the most successful athletic department in the Big Ten. The BTN is built for showing "secondary" sports, and PSU brings a lot of viewers because of their alumni base in the cities I have listed above. Say what you want, but PSU brings more to the Big Ten than what they take from it.

    It's funny, when we joined the conference, it was "We get to join the likes of Ohio St and Michigan." Yeah there was no mention of Penn St.

    Football makes the world go round though when it comes to conference realignment. Nobody is clamoring for the schools that aren't good at football. Football=value.

  • the mountain west or western athletic conferences are looking to add teams. maybe psu could fill the vacuum boise state is leaving behind. according to a couple of the schmucks on here, they have the alumni for it, if not the football team.

    I'm not going to deny that psu adds value. They do. But the genius who said The Big Ten Network wouldn't esixt without psu is a buffoon.

    The problem I have is with the fan base, not the university. penn state is an outstanding academic institution.

    But the fan base has gone "round the bend". With all the whining and belly aching about the situation you are in that was created BY THE UNIVERSITY, it's seriously not worth the trouble.

    Suck it up. it sucks, but your school isn't perfect and they screwed up. Stop acting like children who don't get their way.

    sure, your schools admininstration and footbal coaching staff hid and protected a CHILD SEXUAL PREDATOR, who RAPED CHILDREN ON YOUR CAMPUS. i've read many post on here and other sites where psu "fans" are blaming those children for the sanctions placed on their football team. you should be damn lucky the big 10 doesn't kick your asses out, because i can't think, of another aq conference that would want that blemish. if it wasn't for the b1g, you'd have to go back to being an independant, playing the likes of colgate, temple, and holy cross again. see how much money psu makes then. while your talking about money, that is all you've mentioned. nothing about the rapes on your campus, the ruined lives brought on by YOUR adminnistration and coaching staff. all you can speak of is money..how's that for being a funny guy, you douchebag

    We are valued at $100 million (I am assuming that Revenue) to your $78 million.

    People in here are very amusing. Apparently the joke of "is the MWC looking for teams" wasn't old and unoriginal after the first, second, third, etc. times it was said. So clever and unique. Just like most of the people on this board.

    Whether people want to believe it or not, PSU is a program with a lot of worth, period, and the Big Ten would have been beyond stupid to kick us out. If people think this is a permanent reputation...well, does everyone else see Baylor as the basketball murder school? Yeah...don't think so.

    I'm fine with being hated. Shows that people care. Seems like people desperately want to believe PSU isn't actually worth anything.

    The reason I pointed all of those things out was because a couple of the posters here doubted that PSU would be picked up by the ACC if we were to leave the Big Ten. That is laughable. Almost as funny as who the Big Ten would replace us with. I hear that Rutgers is looking. Have fun with that.
