Penn State's BOT Appealing Sanctions

  • xxmgobluexx said...

    Stockholm syndrome.

Eh... just remember that most of these kids were lured in because they were PSU football fans, which made it easier for Jerry to get in close with them. It shouldn't be surprising that at least some of them don't like the sanctions.

??? What the hell are you talking about? If you have a problem with what he said, bring it up with him. I'm sure he knows why he feels that way.

Did all the children and their family members that were molested by priests become atheists or did they blame the people responsible even though the church covered it up and the priest didn't end up in jail?

  • I think that is the point I do not know how they were affected nor do you. But I guess if it fits your defense of your point it's fair game.

Another reason why Paterno should have cut ties entirely instead of the hush hush retirement in 99. But he didn't and Sandusky was able to continue his abuse.

The Presidents & Chancellors had no choice but to act & punish. Emmert acted on their behalf. Why people can't comprehend this important detail is beyond my help shrug

It was a pretty dumb comment..... And added nothing to the conversation. gun Good job michigan.

No, in 98 the police investigated and didn't charge Sandusky. The abuse would have continued even if he was bared from campus (although that would not happen since they would have no legal reason to do so at the time). The issue was 2001 and 2001 alone. That was where Paterno and everyone involved failed, not prior.

Sorry man, but 1999 is the date. Sandusky's retirement out of the blue. Emails from Paterno's account substantiate. Like I previously said, B1G attorney was embedded. Facts and proof. Red Flag was 1998. Proof is 1999 actions & correspondences. There is a reason why forfeits go back to 1998. Reason why Sally Mason hit PSU for 15 million.

Louis fresh said in his initial press conference that sandusky's retirement had nothing to do with the 98 incident.... Response?

You don't know anything about the Penn State fanbase (other than trolling them for upvotes).

I have about 20 or so good friends that are Penn St fans and I know what I have seen from being around them in person for 13 games between Alabama and Penn St, 6 of those in State College and one game in State College between Michigan and Penn St. One of my former bosses that I worked with for about 7 years was a Penn St alum.

Of course, I like my friends, but the all people I just ran into were all great to be around.

For the record, I have had a good time with Ohio St fans as well for the most part. Most don't quite seem like you. We met great tOSU fans in Orlando for the Citrus Bowl, in East Rutherford for the kickoff classic back in the 80's, and when I was a bit younger at the 1978 Sugar Bowl. I guess it goes without saying that I have never seen tOSU win a game in person.

Yes. Much like a Utah fan who probably has never had the good fortune of seeing Alabama win in person.

That's fine if you want to base your viewpoint of the Penn State fanbase on your small circle of friends but that isn't the reality. The reality is the Penn St fanbase throws bags filled with urine at the opposing team's band. They throw beer bottles at opposing fans. They riot by thousands when a coach, who enabled a pedophile, is fired.

    That is...Penn State.

Yea BetterOff! We all do this^^^^. How dare you base your opinion off of personal relationships and experiences with multiple PSU fans!!! You're clearly the one that doesn't know what you're talking about!! headslap

I would think basing an opinon off of the actions of thousands as as opposed to the actions of a handful of close friends makes more sense.

Okay, so what is more important... the 3000 rioters after Paterno was fired or the 10,000+ people at the vigil that was held two days later? Or how about the thousands of students that participate in the largest charity event out of any university to support pediatric cancer research (which raised 10.6 million last year)?

I know you won't give an honest answer because you are a troll, but it's significant to note none the less.

I guess they treat people from Alabama much better than those from Ohio, because most of my close friends from Penn St, except for a few were made going to the games and meeting them randomly, then keeping in touch over the years.

I'm not saying they wouldn't ever do something out of line with a rival fan, but I am sure they have experienced some of the same treatment from tOSU fans as well at times also.

Clearly, it's BetterOff's twenty or so friends.

(Raising money for cancer research is great. It's also not related to football.)

I don't even know how you can hold a couple thousand drunk students accountable for their reaction the day after JoePa was fired. Kids are emotional at that age, an allegiance to your school at a time like that can give you a skewed view of reality, and very few of them even knew what had happened and I am sure found it hard to believe at the time that any of it could have been true....as much of us couldn't at the time either. If someone would have told anyone about a rumor mentioning any of this a year ago, no one would have believed them.

    Bingo.

Now stop trolling for upvotes because you think you know the entire Penn State fanbase (or any fanbase for that matter) because you have some friends who went there.

    Right.

Only the students at PSU are reckless. The "grown-ups" at Penn State would never do something terrible simply to protect the football progam.
