Another interesting tidbit..,.the owner of the company built them a soccer field on company property. I'm friends with the owner and he said almost everynight, after work all of them would go home and grab their kids and meet back up and have what is basically a mini-world cup. I've watched them play, that's guys are kick ass soccer players. Maybe They could teach many Americans a few important things to earn citizenship? Instead of having them explain constitutional amendments on a test, maybe they could teach us
Family values?
What its like to work 12 hr days?

So we have a company that didnt want to pay a living wage to its employees, so the only people he could hire are illegal aliens? And the government was wrong to end it?
Yeah. That makes a lot of sense.
I feel REAL bad for the factory owner, who was getting rich off of illegal workers. That poor man, having to close his doors because he doesnt want to pay people enough. I can only imagine the health or retirement plan he has set up.

You know little. These workers were being paid between 10-12 dollars an hour. That's standard in rural county Georgia. Yet I know many Unionized American workers who absolutely love working 3 months and ring laid off the rest of the year so try can collect a check. The Owner treats them very good. Pays them a living wage ( obviously because they have enough to live) and built them a nice soccer field. He takes payroll taxes out of their check so his book stay legal. But guess what? Like many Americans making 10-12 dollars an hour these illegal immigrants can't file earned income credit on their taxes and receive thousands back at the end of the year while paying in virtually nothing. Your pay is what you're worth. In a job where the only skill set is hard work, do you really think an Employer should pay 20 bucks an hour? Benefits? Do you know what that would do to price of goods?

I hardly feel bad for the owner of the plant, but I do certainly feel bad for the people trying to earn a living and being deported based on a lack of documented paperwork. You know how job postings typically say something like, "relevant experience can be substituted for education"? I feel like that applies here.

People are clueless when it comes to this topic. I'm a 4th generation citrus grower/harvester & these "illegals" are the backbone of our industry. It's ironic to see people complaining about giving work to them yet never in my life have we had a white or black man come try to apply for a job. These guys bust their asses for $350/wk. At the end of the day, who cares if their name really isn't Juan Toribio Sanchez? The government still gets their money, our fruit still gets picked & the workers still make a paycheck. As long as the employee is paying at least minimum wage, how is their an issue? Only one group of people are willing to do that kind of work & it's not the ones on street corners in Detroit or at the local McDonalds in Fatsville, Alabama.
