    I think Briles would be a fine hire. Doubt Gundy leaves Okie St, with him being an alum and the money Pickens is putting into that program. Kirby Smart should probably get a look.

    He might be, though I'm not sure if he will ever leave BSU even for that. And there's also no guarantee he's first on UT's list. My point was simply that Patterson will stay at TCU until Mac retires and is replaced. If Patterson doesn't get the job, then maybe he will accept another offer but he will not leave TCU until that happens.

    If this was anywhere but the SEC I'd agree with you, but usually winning trumps something like an affair and Petrino was winning.

    Mass Mutual fired its' CEO a couple of years ago for inappropriate relations with the hired help. And he was an excellent CEO. The law makes it difficult to swing things under the rug or turn a blind eye to this activity. Arkansas did what they had to do. I hope that they can find a good replacement for the sake of the team.

    they did and so did HP - both ended up the better for the move although at the time lots of folks were really questioning the move

    He just turned down FOUR MILLION a year from UCLA......he also turned down North Carolina for a similar amount.

    He is not even going to notice the Arkansas job.

    Get a guy who can recruit and build a better D. Fact is, the SEC is a defensive league And a league where you must have talent to win, not just coaching.

    Huh? Ballsy?? What option does he have to save any shred of university dignity? Petrino is an immoral pig (literally), and he hired his mistress to work for him in a public university. If anything, alums and boosters should be lined up demanding Petrino's head on a platter.

    You can't spew the "Southern by the Grace of God" and all that other holier-than-thou BS, and not take this action.
