I understand embarrassing the program part but if all he did was cheat on his wife with a fellow co-worker, not worth cutting off their nose to spite their face. He's the best thing that has happened to Arkansas in decades. One of the best coaches in CFB. Definitely a scumbag though.

    He did hire her and they had a relationship before hiring.

    They were very formiddable with Nutt. I know they played in 2 SEC championship gms, against UGA and UF, and I think tied for another Western division crown. Thats 3 western division crowns in his 9-10 yrs, which is pretty good, imo.

    Nutt also was caught cheating, or rumored to be cheating, iirc. Thats the funny thing to me. I cant fully remember, but it was something about his mistress talking ish to Mitch Mustain thru text msgs, for playing bad. Or something like that.

    The point is that Petrino is very replacebale. Before Nutt, they were extremely lousy, and he was forced out, "resigned." So I think Petrino will be resigning pretty soon.

    pigs were probably a top 5 team this year...and were very good the year before...

    You keep your greedy damn hands off Smart. Just kidding because the only way Smart sticks around with us is if Saban leaves and I would root for him to have a HC position. He can't be more than a season or two away from it one way or another.

    He had a serious favor in that one. LSU wasn't what they were now and Bama was on probation. Nutt would have done with Arky what he did with Ole Miss if LSU and Bama were top notch programs like they are now. Nutt took advantage of a shitty SEC West. That day has passed and will never come again.

  • He may be, I dont know for a fact, but Nutt gave him fits also.

    Arkansas was bad, real bad, when Nutt got there. They won 9-10 gms like Nutt's first yr. They had a good run of bowl gms, 5-6 straight, and 3 were likely Jan 1st bowls.

    Nutt left Petrino in a bad position as well, talent wise. Petrino definitely got that thing back rolling good.

    I think, due to the current success, they actually would have a shot at a decent coach.

  • Apart from the 55k is another problem. If they keep him then they are open to big lawsuit by the mistress and an endless amount of future lawsuits anytime they fire someone for a work/relationship situation.
