bammer: the only fan base in the world dumb enough to constantly start flame or troll threads about Auburn and then claim I am the one who is obsessed with them because they dont like my responses lol

Under our current NCAA investigation, did you know that Nevin Shapiro bought a bunch of suits for two of our assistant coaches at a Tuscaloosa clothing store? Then Trent and Julio came and picked them up in Land Rovers and sold them for 8 million dollars, which they used to buy drugs from Jimmy Johns. They were about to get cuffed and stuffed, but SaBear swooped in on his shetland pony (he's not big enough to ride anything else) and made the mayor and cops kiss his dick, but not before he rode his pony all over the gulf coast relocatin' kids, changin' grades and processing other proud programs' head coaches.

    Z'at about cover it?

I'm an Alabama fan, not an Auburn fan BTW.

I know but you were on the Chizik is the better coach bandwagon with them. Thats why I specifically remember you.

WTF an actual thought out post. Shame on you.

Helluva lot better thought out than Marshall's Arkansas needs to do the right thing article 7 months ago. But who knew he'd be defending AU for trying to hire Petrino less than a year later?

Petrino had to be fired from Arkansas since he did it there. He didn't do anything at Auburn. I don't understand how you can't see the difference.

If the guy was not employable by Arkansas 7 months ago, what has changed today? I think its ridiculous to say my school can hire him because he hasnt broken any laws while coaching at my school. Especially after you have gone on the record saying the right thing to do is not employ him.

He hasn't broken any laws at all. He hasn't been charged with one crime that I'm aware of. For Arkansas at the time they had to let him go.

Because Arky and Auburn aren't the same schools.

He screwed up at Arky not at Auburn. Really not that tough of a concept to grasp if you have even moderate intelligence.....

He opened the university of Arkansas to sexual harrassment law suits and illegal hiring practice law suits. Who knows how many people they had to payoff? He did things that every HR manager has nightmares about at night.

I never would have said he was a better coach than Petrino. I might have said he has recruited better and is probably better at that, as I don't think it is something Petrino really loves to do.

I might have also said that Chizik could have a higher ceiling at Auburn in winning based on which school he is at, which he did prove by winning a BCS title, but I would have never said Chizik was a better coach than Petrino.

Petrino would be better at Auburn than Chizik on a consistant basis, but there are a lot of coaches that could be better at Auburn than someone could be at Arkansas.

Yes, but he hasn't done that at Auburn and he actually has a track record at Auburn for people to go on as well. The decision is whether it is worth the risk that he won't do it again. I would have so many clauses in his contact and every single person hired for a position that he is affiliated with would have to jump through hoops and be interviewed by so many different boards to enure that this could never happen.

There is something that needs to be mentioned here. Petrino is to blame for doing this, but Arkansas should take some heat for allowing him to have the full autonomy in hiring anyone. Anyone that has worked at a state institution knows that is a complete no no to begin with for those very reasons. That includes everyone down to e secretary.
