Player for your team that has been a pleasant surprise?

    Who is 3rd?

I have you guys winning the division. Going into EL and beating MSU and beating Michigan in the night game at home. I also fully expect a whooping to be put on NW after last year also.

Braylon Heard. He is the most gifted back with burner speed. He played DB last year so he's learning the running back position again

As CMXI said, Devin Funchess has been great for Michigan so far, but I'm going to go with Dennis Norfleet. We all knew he was supposed to be good on kick returns, but he has shown he has no fear when he takes returns and he could break all of the return records at Michigan if he keeps going the way he has.

I would agree with this, if he had actually broke one for a TD. So far, he he has been solid, nothing spectacular though.

Thank you. Is he a soph then?

Just about every kickoff he has only one or two tacklers to beat, he will break one off eventually.

  • Last year, I would have said Brandon Wilds. Many were saying we wasted a scholarship on him and he was going to move to FB. Instead, he stepped in when Lattimore got hurt and had a great freshmen season. This year, it looks like he is going to redshirt with 3 backs in front of him.

Another one that comes to mind is true freshmen TJ Gurley. He was a low 3 star that has come in and played well so far this season. He stepped up last week when DJ went out and he also showed poise pulling off our starting CB when he was about to destroy a Mizzu WR last week.

Devin Taylor would make this list bc he came in as a 2 star and has turned into a very good SEC DE and is part of one the best DL in the nation.

Beat that one or two and I would put him up against Funchess. Hopefully it happens in a big game, not when Michigan is up by 3 scores.

  • Johnny Manziel. I thought he would struggle some at the start but he has been playing lights out. Most impressive stat from him is zero turnovers so far.

he's been every bit you guys could have wished for, and more, imo. i've been [un]pleasantly surprised w/ such a quick uptake and understanding of playing at the next level.

On pace for 3,250 ish yards; 32.5 TD's and 3.33 Interceptions. Not too shabby.

  • I'd say TE Kyle Carter is first and WR Allen Robinson second. Robinson has had the bigger year, but more was expected out of him than Carter. Carter is just a freshman and could be competing for All-American honors by the end of his career. I wouldn't be surprised if Robinson shatters PSU's career and single season receiving records even without bowl games.

Agree with those two. I'd mention McGloin and Deion Barnes too.

  • D J Monroe as well for Texas.Every time he touches the ball it's a first down or a TD?

  • The other Hawkeye I would mention is K Mike Meyer. Meyer's first 2 seasons were decent, but this year, he's been outstanding. He was clutch in the close win over NIU and has been impeccable since. He's 10/10 on XP and 10/11 on FGs.
