Players in SEC face more lenient penalties for drug use

  • NoVaNoles said...

    Lulz at you

Most players don't have enough time to be baked all the time like regular students

You are out of touch with reality old man

My friends were players just a few years ago, i know the situation far better than you and your view from the couch

You are such a terrible poster, go somewhere else so you can coverstate with those your own age

You don't even fit in around here

I can name three players who were "purged" at USC because they were constantly high. LenDale White smoked and ate his way out of the NFL.

I just stay here to laugh at your idiocy Mr Expert. You're a little doosh who's only accomplishments in life are on a football board. You will be my age before you know it and all you'll have to look back on is 150K posts on a message board and a sore right hand.

Is there a single BCS conference school that suspends a player for an entire year for a positive marijuana test? I would think every single school has a policy more lenient than the NCAA...as it should be. A 1 year ban for smoking week is absurd.

The NCAA is made up of representative from the schools. How could you possibly think their policy should be more stringent than the schools they represent?

Who cares, good for the SEC imo

    They are kids in college

Kids do drugs at that age, especially cocky kids like a football player or whatever athlete

Hell Micheal Phelps shitted on the world to 8 gold medals while ripping bong hits

In reality the whole fucking country is on something

Lulz at their even being rules for it when half these schools hand out PED's/roids like its water

I played every game of my high school career high as a kite and i started both ways and ST's

The whole country ISN"T on something.

Your attitude on the situation is understandable

    You did it.

So apparently everyone else can do it.

Your attitude is the kind of cavalier shit that most parents have to fight against when trying to raise children.

    Still a good poster imho:)

Devidee certainly gets my vote for best, not because of trolling people but simply because he provides links to articles and is ferserious brah. What he does can't be banned. He's a genius and im proud to have the same canton sources as he does:)

I can't blame him for thinking these things. I'd rather be married with children and stressed out about taking on potential role models like this then be unmarried have no children and fight for the reality of the situation. It's trench warfare out here and each family needs to do what they gotta do to ensure that this acceptable mentality doesn't overrun the foundations of hard work and hard times this country was built upon.

Also these athlets barely take real classes at most schools so shut it about academics

Most football players aren't real students

They are mostly just slaves to the university that exploits their talent

I'm not sure what you are saying. The NCAA suspends a player for an entire year if they fail one drug test. That is too harsh IMO. I doubt you can find a single BCS school that has a policy that is as stringent. My point is that the NCAA shouldn't have such a tough policy on this issue. A year is fine for repeat offenses like many SEC schools do(I know Bama suspends a player for an entire year on the third failed test with the potential to send the player packing). Maybe the NCAA should change their policy to meet it's members policy.

I know what you mean. I'm pretty sure that 80 percent of all women are on some sort of anti depressant. I'm also not all for booting a first time offender and understand it does go on. I'm just saying that if i were a coach and i had a 2 time offender i would boot him A. for being dumb enough to do it again or B. For being dumb enough to get caught twice. I wouldn't want that idiocy on my team in either situation:)

Perhaps I am just misunderstanding something being discussed in this thread, but isn't the SEC schools' policies (and that of every conference and school for that matter) far more stringent than that of the NCAA?

The NCAA has rules regarding performance enhancing drugs.
Schools and conferences set their policies regarding other drugs.

So, if a school allows players five failed marijuana tests before suspension, it is still more stringent than the NCAA's policy regarding marijuana because the NCAA has no restrictive policy whatsoever.
Regarding performance enhancing drugs, the NCAA is responsible for testing and enforcement.

Am I wrong on this? Reading through the article shows they carefully danced their words to make something appear to be there that isn't there, IMO.
Can someone show where it is reported that the NCAA has rules regarding recreational use of drugs that are more stringent than the SEC schools' rules regarding recreational drug use?
Can someone show where the SEC (or any other schools for that matter) have rules regarding performance enhancing drugs differing from those of the NCAA?

This just seems to be blown into something it isn't by taking a phrase in the article out of context.

True about the idocy of getting caught

But its more about them not caring than being stupid... And they shouldn't have to care

Much rather my players smoke grass than poppping pills or drinking like a frat boy

    Reality check needed.

29 isn't "a young man". By 29 I had been married, fathered two children, bought a house and started a business. The greatest accomplishment of your first 29 years probably was getting to level 7 of some video game.

Sick burn or not 26K posts on one site in a few years is someone who derives all of their self worth or in your case loathing on the interwebs. Your "I've been banned" drama act of last week is a pretty good example of of your needy nature. If you really need attention I'd suggest a woman but in your case a dog would probably be a more realistic option.

Feel free not to wait until my age to off yourself. Talking shit to an old man is even sadder.

this is my understanding as well but apparently most "other " schools dont wait until the 5 missed chances before taking action
