Possible BCS Title contenders for the 2013 season

Obviously, factor in returning starters/starters lost, incoming 2013 recruiting classes, coaching changes and NCAA probation.

Shaw is a Jr. If Lattimore comes back(doubtful), we will lose hardly anyone on Offense outside of 2 OL. DL will be nasty again with only losing Taylor, and getting Clowney for 1 more year. We do lose all our LBs, and a safety, but should still have a very stiff D.

Nope he'll be back. We only lose our starting center and TE on offense. Defense is the problem. Lose Taylor and swearinger plus all our LBs.
Edit- lattimore may leave as well.

USC could very well be better next year. Will be better in the trenches, and may possibly have the best front 7 in the nation.

Maybe. The media loves Urbie (possibly because he worked with them for a year?). But it will play out much like USC this year. Everyone will focus on the flash and sizzle of the O and conveniently overlook that they have no D. You can't beat the very best teams without a defense. It has been that way since the beginning of time and every year we get headfaked by 2-3 teams putting up crazy numbers on offense only to see them go down in week 10 (or even the championship game) because they run into a team that is good on both sides of the ball. OSU has a long way to go on defense to get anywhere close to national championship level.

Hard to see Latt staying. It just does not make any sense for a rb to stay for his senior year, where he can not significantly improve his draft stock.

No doubt! I don't see it happening, but he never ceases to amaze me. His production is down this year for sure, and he wants the Heisman and an SEC championship bad....so you never know. Likely gone with a 1st round grade though.

I think our offense will be great next year with a full year under our belts, but the defense is so questionable. If Hankins and Roby stay, then it will definitely help some, but we are losing a lot on the defensive side. We have 2 five star guys in spence and Washington ready to step in as Sophs and contribute at wsde and dt, but the linebackers are such a question mark. Hopefully someone steps up from last years class and becomes the starter beside shazier.
Braxton is great though and will only get better at passing with another offseason and the rest of this season. And the o line is all back besides fragel at right tackle, and they have become a great group so far this year.

will lose a lot, but like this year, will certainly have players to replace. Bama will still be in the thick of it without a doubt. Only reason I gave those other teams the nod over Bama is the QB position. USC the only team on that list, not returning a starting QB
