No pictures yet, but my dad just had his wood-burning brick fireplace completely redone. It looks amazing, and it's so well insulated that one or two pieces of wood burns for at least a couple of hours.

That's what I do too. I love the smell of a fire.

None, thankfully. Lol I'm home from school for the holidays. But there's three of us. And the last is my brother in law.

I mean really, that mantle is too small and doesn't complement the tile at all. What are we, animals?

I agree. These bullshit inserts and stove pipe chimneys are a freaking joke. We can't even burn ours because as much smoke comes back into the house as goes out of the "chimney". Spend the money and get a real fireplace. If you're running gas to it then you might as well save the money and get a space heater to sit in front of. But as far as look, go with the stacked stone. It looks really good. Much better than tile surrounds.
