With the technology we have today, they are not needed I guess. However, back in the day they were so badass. All we had was nintendo. My favorites are Final Fight, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Simpsons.

I remember when Mortal Kombat came out. I was blown away. About the same time NBA Jam came out. Midway made some great games.

Some good documentaries on arcade game on netflix.
A lot of people know it from NES, but I did like Kung Fu. Like scinsc5 said, Elevator Action was a favorite too.
Also liked original Mario Bros, Double Dragon, Ghost and Goblins

Comp: The room lights up
Me: Look around room
Comp: you see a chest
Me: Walk over to chest. Open chest
Comp: The chest is locked
Me: Use key to unlock chest
Comp: The chest is unlocked
Me: Open chest
Comp. Chest is open. You see a sword
Me: pick up sword.
Comp: Sword is booby trapped. The celiing comes crashing down. You are dead.
I kid you not. Black screen with white text, that was it. Very addictive game.
