Post here if you are a fan of classic arcade games

  • Dragon's Lair was another I sunk some coins into ... I don't remember getting very far in the arcade version though, even after memorizing the first 10-12 screens.

Text based games are super old school.

Intellivison baseball was awesome too. Also 1982.

  • WWF Wrestlefest. Another one of my favorites. Pumped many quarters into this one trying to beat the Road Warriors.

    Yeah, I said it.

  • I'd have to say Metroid from Nintendo was pretty sweet, too.

  • Mortal Kombat was my crack cocaine! I don't know how many hours and quarters I spent playing that game.

wasn't dragon's lair a premium game? maybe 3 quarters when every other game was one quarter. i was too cheap to learn that game, but it was cutting edge when it came out

That one & WWF Super Stars. It was the same game only you fought The Million Dollar Man & Andre The Giant at the end. Both were the tits! I kept the arcade by my house in business, I dropped massive quarters at that place. I have a ton of favorites.

    Spy Hunter
    Sunset Riders
    Pac man
    Donkey Kong
    Ninja Turtles
    X-Men
    Time Crisis
    Area 51
    That Aerosmith Shooter
    Cruising USA
    Terminator 2 shooter
    Street Fighter 2
Every Mortal Kombat (They just got better throughout the 90's)
    House Of The Dead
A shit ton of others I can't remember.

It's a personal dream & goal of mine to have all these arcade games in my home someday.

Yup Dragons Lair and Space Ace were similar. It was all about tapping the joystick certain ways. Btw NBA Jam took alot of money from me as well. Contra was another one.

  • Anyone remember Afterburner with the cockpit that moved? That game was awesome. I actually played on that had a full 360 degree cockpit that would go upside down in Canada.

  • Go bucky go

  • Contra
    Tecmo Bowl
    Battle Toads
    Black Bass
    Narc
    Ninja Turtles II
    The Adventures of Bayou Billy

    Loved all of these!
Not sure who I saw post "maniac mansion" but I remember it and probably would've never thought of it again. I love these threads!

The upside down one was awesome, but IIRC, it was like $3.00 to play, and they had to pay some guy to strap you in and make sure you weren't doing anything crazy (like trying to play without the belts snapped). At 12 though, it was the coolest thing ever.

I loved this game and sucked at it. I too only got a thru several scenes. i'm not sure how far i got, i don't remember.,

my favorite of all time is Galaga - the fast version.
usually you can find the Ms Pacman fast version there too - it's my second favorite.

    good stuff.
