Post here if you are a fan of classic arcade games

  • There's a new bar near me with 20+ arcade games at any given time. I'm pretty excited to try it out. It's also apparently a whiskey bar ... what better way to start a fight than with whiskey and arcade games.

My two favorite arcade games were both from the mid-90s, those were Area-51 and The Simpsons. The Simpsons game was pretty stupid, but I just have a lot of fond memories growing up with it. Also big fan of Mortal Kombat.

Joust was one of my favorites, but my top 3 were DD, Contra, and MK1. I'm surprised Contra hasn't gotten more love ITT.

It's because NES contra was one of the few games that was better than the arcade version.

wasn't dragon's lair a premium game? maybe 3 quarters when every other game was one quarter. i was too cheap to learn that game, but it was cutting edge when it came out

Yep, 2 quarters at the Scarborough Town Centre, which I think was the same for Punch-out too.

  • Have Asteroids in my basement as we speak ... the arcade game. Not anything on a console. Still a badass game that me and the crew will get down on after a night of drinkin or chillin at the crib.

Its a heavy son of a bitch ... we just moved house and had to dolly that sum bitch around. The kicker is ... the language on it is in French (dont know where it originally came from, was a hand me down from the Pops)

i was awful at Virtua Fighter. My brother in law is 12 years younger than me, and I used to take him to arcades when he was a kid. We used to absolutely work kids on Tekken Tag Tournament.

  • I love classic arcade games and in particular pinball. Some of the pinball games from the 80s were pretty sweet like Black Knight, Haunted House and Flash Gordon. The nineties weren't bad either. (Twilight Zone, Adams Family, Arabian Nights)

But if you have not followed pinball gaming recently, you should do yourself a favor and check out some of the new games that have come out. See links below for Tron and ACDC limited edition pins. They really blend the classic arcade feel of pinball with some of the benefits of new technology.
